So it seems this section isn't hopping like it should be. So I guess it won't hurt to throw a fresh idea into the stew. I mean, this is a great site and all but....it could really use a tavern.
Allow me to explain. The Rising Star Tavern is not a roleplaying scenario, but a roleplaying location. The Tavern doesn't reside in any particular timeline, meaning that any character can enter the tavern freely. When you feel like a quick shot of roleplaying and character interaction, enter the tavern. When you're done, exit the tavern. Simple, no? Of course, you're not just restricted to inside the Tavern. Feel free to play your characters at the lake near the tavern, the nearby forest...and any other place you players can dream up really. I'll moderate the Tavern if I have to but it's a completely player-driven thing. All ideas and help are welcome.
There's no required submitting of bios or sign up thread or anything. If you guys are interested, I'll simply make a thread for the Tavern. Players can use their characters there as they wish, while following a few basic guidelines.
-Standard Roleplaying rules, no godmoding and cause and effect and such.
-Try not to enter the Tavern unless you plan to be pretty active for the duration of your character's stay. It won't really work if posts are days apart.
-If there are lots of characters and they're in different locations, specify where your character is at the top of your post. (i.e. "The Tavern", or "The Lake."
- What happens in the Tavern stays in the Tavern. Since it has it's own timeline, your characters can't take items out of the tavern or anything like that. And if your char "dies" in the Tavern, that character is still very much alive and can be used in other RP's.
...and that's the only rules I can think of right now. If I think of anything else I'll add it. And suggestions are welcome. So would anyone be interested in this sort of thing? Who knows, if it really takes off we could get our own subforum. I'll add in a poll for you guys, because you like those.
