LOL It's amazing how a lot of these names that are so common, names that we effin' HATE, always have some super epic meaning behind them.

My name is Sean. Pleased to meet you all.
Since Sean is the Irish version of John, they have the same meaning:

    JOHN
    Gender: Masculine
    Usage: English, Biblical
    Pronounced: JAHN (English) [key]

English form of Iohannes, the Latin form of the Greek name Ιωαννης (Ioannes), itself derived from the Hebrew name יוֹחָנָן (Yochanan) meaning "YAHWEH is gracious". This name owes its popularity to two New Testament characters, both highly revered saints. The first was John the Baptist, a Jewish ascetic who was considered the forerunner of Jesus Christ. The second was the apostle John, who was also supposedly the author of the fourth Gospel and Revelation.
    I cannot be any clearer.
Take from this what you will, and please feel free to counter anything I have said with some opinions of your own. Which would strictly probably almost be an accepted algorithm essential to the construct and maintenance of a proper discussion.
    Just throwing that out there.

Go figure, they sound the same and have the same freakin' meaning. LOL I never would have guessed, and for some reason I feel a little stupid for not somehow connecting the two, especially with how analytical I consider myself to be. xD

Oh my god, I never noticed that either. I've just always thought Sean was a weird way of spelling "Shawn." D:

  8. #48
No, Sean is just the awesome way of spelling Shawn.
However, people sometimes call me Shawn (there's a difference, trust me), but I've learned to overlook it. Mostly, the people who do it are the type who buy dip in bulk.
    I cannot be any clearer.

I don't really want to share my name beyond saying the first half of it is "Nav". I would tell people that's my name anyways since I introduce myself informally as such. If my mom wouldn't kick my ass, I'd probably get it legally changed to "Nav" anyways xD

But here's a lil' bit of info: my name means "new tradition"

Hi, sorry about my lacking presence at RSF. I got busy with my off-line life, and though it's settled a bit, there's not much to do here without people posting (which is kind of my fault >.<)

(Has no fucking clue, but it's fun to pretend).

I don't want to say yes or no to that >.<

I will say for a surprisingly simple name, it get's mispronounced a whole lot. It's one of the reasons why I shortened it for other people >_>

    Fair enough.

Austin is a pretty common name around here, but in school I still had teachers mispronounce it somehow.

That's an interesting slam on somebody. I didn't even know you could buy dip in bulk. *laughs*

My name is Christopher, though I don't particularly like the name. Kendra's family call me Christ-opher which is kinda interesting. But to be honest, I've always liked my middle name Paul.

My last name is a blight on the earth so most likely I'll take kendra's last name should we tie the knot. XD

All of Mother Nature's laws seem to correspond with her not at all wanting the human race to buy dip in any size other than a small can.

Down here, however, the motto is: "Fuck Mother Earth. LET'S PARTAAAAAAY."

Haha, don't feel bad. No one knows how to say my last name or spell it. I was teased all through Elementary school because of it and even my teachers in High School couldn't say it (then again half my teachers were straight up ignorant).

But I've grown attached to my last name, it has family ties. :]
I would keep my last name if I were to get married, unless the other person has a really kick-ass name like Hazard or something xD

Yeah, I want to keep my last name when I get married too. My dad and I are the only ones in the US with our last name, so that's kind of spiff. My love interest right now has a horribly boring last name, so there's no way I'm taking it. >>

My name is Devon, which oddly enough everyone seems to spell using every vowel in the alphabet before getting to the 'o'. My name is pronounced Dev-in, not DEE-VON. Don't know why, it just is XD. People always misspell and mispronounce my name. The meaning behind my name according to Behind The Name can either mean "fawn" or "little black one", as my name is a variant of Devin.

As for nicknames, I end up getting called either 'Mad Hatter', 'Joker', 'Nemo' (which is due to the fact that a little kid called me that when my pink hair faded into orange), 'Dev' and now apparently I'm called 'Kefka'. It seems my friends like to name me after psychotic characters or characters who have gone mad lol
It's painful, the pain has already broken the illusion of our hopes and dreams
On the line between reality and ideals
It hurts, the pain has already brought to mind traces from the corners of our hearts
Of the reality we took on on that day
