Absolutely. In real life, i'm a twelve-year-old girl with hypertrichosis.

But in all seriousness, yes. I have sooooo goddamn many personality faults IRL that don't come across on the net you wouldn't believe it. For example, IRL, I have a bad habit of verbalising my every thought. Here, I choose my words carefully.

I have a lot of other reasons, but I can't be asked to post them.

I'd like to think I'm not any different, but you'd have to ask the people here that know me offline to be sure. I will say I make more of an effort to be considerate and friendly , at least on RSF. I also think that everyone probably comes off a bit better if only for the fact that typing out your response gives you more time to think about what you're saying then talking.

I'd say online I'm the person I would be offline if I wasn't nervous around people.

I think this is the best way to phrase it I ever heard, ever. And same here.

Yup, this and the verbal diarrhoea is pretty much me.

    I am different offline.
I talk to people all the time online, with no problem. Unless they say something really awkward that I don't know how to respond to.

But I'm really shy and awkward in person.
I rarely talk to non-friends/family. I don't like talking on the phone either.
I'm always afraid I'll say something stupid.

Typing is a lot easier than talking. Type something wrong, you can delete it. But once you speak it, it's out. You can't just be like LOL BACKSPACE.

    Cold as ice.

Am I one of the few people that's actually more introverted online than off?

I have so little to say that's hip and cool online that I usually don't say much. Or my posts don't make sense and I end up looking like English is my second language.

Offline I'm pretty together, I guess its specifically because everyone else has social anxieties that I tend to be pretty comfortable. I still feel like I have only half a brain, but I find that if you just relax and listen to what everyone else is saying you'll generally get the swing of it.

I will say that I randomly slip between three different accents : Southern, Gangsta and Nerdy Gamer Kid. Its pretty hysterical if you catch me in a transition. XD

I'm different. I'm much ruder offline. Online, I can ponder my statements and make them nice and user-friendly. Online, I say things before I think about them WAY too often. Also, I'm funnier offline. :P

    Re: Are you different online?

I am more meeker online than off. Online i try to be nice and not be a complete jerk. Offline i am very direct. I aspire not to be a typical stereotype in both area's of life (Loud, Obnoxious, gum popping, head swerving, snap my finger). I'm more sucessful online than off. Offline its easier to just leave when i am annoyed. Offline, i am usually in situations where i can't leave and i go off. I think in recent years i have matured alot. People who remember me from Blootix remember i would go off on anyone. Now a days i try not to do that. The last time i went off online, was in a blog. So in many ways i am the same online and i am off. But there are certain differences as well.

    Re: Are you different online?

Maybe offline I can do and say weirder stuff and be a bit more extrovert, but I think that's about it...

Maybe Jess can give you better insight, because she's the only person I've ever met from t'internet.

    Re: Are you different online?

I'm definitly different. I'm terrib;y shy when I have to be face to face with someone even if I'm close to them. I still get crazy embarrassed around Ryvius when I say certain things especially when I word things differently. I'm more outgoing here and I wish I could be that way offline. I'm more comfortable online.

    Re: Are you different online?

Uhmmmm.... I'd say I'm the same to a certain extent, I think I'm a little more exaggerated online. I definitely swear like a sailor, I'm just keeping it a bit cleaner here because I don't know the rules but uhm, yeah haha.

    Re: Are you different online?

Say what ever the fuck is on your mind.

Just don't use the CUNT word!

Wait, actually, that's fine. Just no being explicitly sexual, and that's a serious rule. Swearing is understood, and moderation is appreciated, but I don't think anyone has been asked to keep their swearing to a minimum...
Unless I was asked, which is quite probable.

On a relevant note, I don't know how I act in person, or online. I think people that know me in person and online would be able to give better descriptions, so ask dthc, Rivey, LUA is DeaD, or augmented.implement.

    Re: Are you different online?

I actually think I used to be more of an asshole online than in person. Maybe it was an ego complex. Not sure. I can still be an asshole, but it's pretty moderated, and I'm usually only an asshole if it's called for or if I think it's funny. I'm not sure how much different I am in person. I'm pretty sure I'm the same or at least similar. I'm probably more sarcastic in person, because sarcasm reads a lot better...

    Re: Are you different online?

I can be. Sometimes yes, sometimes no. There's no radical change between me online versus me offline, though I may be a little more harsh to some folks given the anonymity factor. I wouldn't say there's a huge difference.

    Re: Are you different online?

I'm pretty much the same. I'd describe my current online self as being kinda unsociable and odd, yet friendly. I'd describe myself in person as being very unsociable (around people I don't know well) and weird, yet friendly. Pretty close.

I'm not a quiet dude acting like a maniac online at least.

    Re: Are you different online?

I'm almost exactly the same online as off. The only difference is you guys know what I really like and what I don't. I tend to hide my dorky side. You have to do it to get through public school in one peice. So... with that said I'm still mostly the same. Except for my gamer side is more prominent.
