okay, so i just looked this up myself cause penny arcade made a reference to them earlier, and tracked down what exactly happened.

so a company named ocean marketing has been selling preorders of a version of the ps3 controller that had alot of modifications for ease of use called the avenger.

when they first set up the pre orders they touted the banner of being released early december, and a fair number of people pre ordered.
eventually early and mid december came and went with no word on when the product was going to be received, and one customer, (dave) sent an email to customer service trying to find out more information on december 16th.

Enter the worlds worst CS rep hopefully in existence. his first response, heavy with grey areas, is simply, "dec. 17th".

Dave has to respond back trying to get more information, to be responded to with being told that the product hadnt shipped from china yet.

when dave asked for more information such as when he could expect to get his items, as he was hoping ot have it under his christmas tree, he was told that they should ship, "sometime before or after christmas".

this continues one worse until eventually ocean marketings wonderful rep tells dave that he needs to learn to put on his big boy hat and wait it out cause it's not like the large companies dont push back release dates on their products too.

at this point, Dave loses a bit of his cool, and in his response also CC's Kotaku, ign, penny arcade, and several others, because its gotten a bit nuts.

to which the worlds best rep responds that he personally knows the people who run PAX and several other of the main people, and continues to insult Dave for trying to bring other people in on his "childish fit about not getting his toy".

it was about here that writer for Penny arcade stepped in and began to do what he could to make sure the company had nothing to do with Any PAX due to this service. the customer service rep continues to talk trash up to where he identifies himself as the one who made penny arcade, to which he just replies "Love that comic".

so Penny arcade now has the full conversation up on their main page, and now the ocean marketing tumblr is flooded with hatespam for this. when that started ocean marketing changed their name to "Ocean strategy" and thought that would solve the issues.

What do I think of it? I think it's pretty fucking sad that a tool used to enable disabled people to play video games, a tool designed and created by a man that cares and wants to help, is having its reputation detroyed online because of ONE doouchebag PR firm employee and everyone's fascination with jumping on internet bandwagons. All those fuckers on Reddit and other websites thought it would be so fucking funny to give this 1 star ratings and such on Amazon and it's just not fair on the product. This amazing thing helps so many disabled people and now people are being discouraged from buying it because mindless idiots are acting like sheep and posting ZOMGLOLBBQ posts like the Thee Wolf Moon shirt stuff.
