For those of you who dont follow alot of Mojang and the like, Notch made minecraft, which funded him creating Mojang. he's currently working on a side project that is a board game/ card game called Scrolls.
Notch recently got a warning from bethseda's legal devision saying he had to change the name of his game or else he was going to be sued. their concept was based on his game taking credit from Elder Scrolls V.
in response to this, Notch has issued a challenge to bethseda to solve this without going to court. he has proposed a 3v3 match between staff of Mojang and staff of Bethseda in Quake 3. if he wins, the name stays as scrolls, if he loses, he changes the name to something bethseda is okay with. he also says regardless he will put a notice in the game stating that it is in no way associated with The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
what do y'all think of this innovative response to a awkward situation?
i personally like this concept. it lets two gaming companies settle a minor issue through means that seems logical based on both of them being gaming companies.
