Melo holic by Team Getname
For those who aren't familiar with manhwa, a manhwa is the Korean equivalent of a manga.
There has been a surge of webcomics that have gained popularity, particularly at comic.naver.com. Team Getname has released three webcomics: Hanged Doll, Superior Day, and Melo holic. There are English translations of these floating around... The translations for Superior Day and Melo holic are still being released, though I think Superior Day is already finished in the original Korean version. Melo holic is also not yet completed in the original version. To date, it is up to Chapter 70. Hanged Doll is complete in both the original releases and the English translations.
The manhwas released by Team Getname are hard to categorize. Often they start out as being benign slice-of-life stories with comedic twists... but as the stories draw nearer to their conclusions they tend to take a twisted turn that may leave some readers psychologically scarred. Superior Day doesn't dwell long within the slice-of-life schematic... it gets twisted by the end of the first chapter.
Having read Hanged Doll, I was apprehensive of reading Melo holic (once I learned that Team Getname was behind both stories). Yet I can't draw myself away. Though I know that Team Getname will inevitably scar me mentally I can't help but to be drawn in by the characters, whether friend or foe. These stories are best read without spoilers beforehand. These stories are not suitable for children.
Now that I've warned you... I can get you started at least with Melo holic (the one I am currently reading):
Melo holic
