PSN is Down Worldwide
Not really news-news anymore, but I figure I'd make a thread about it.
According to Sony, sometime between April 17 and April 19, PSN was attacked from the outside by hackers, and they more or less shut 'er down for security sake.
And it's been down ever since.
There's been massive concern over people's sensitive private info and credit card info accessed by the hackers and Sony is encouraging people to check with the credit card companies and to change their passwords.
According to a news source, over 75 million PSN accounts have been compromised, and there's yet to be a ETA announced of when the service will be back up.

Well I'm peeved. I got DLC I want to DL, but I can't, hmph. Luckily for me, I never used a credit card on PSN, but I still have about 60 dollars between my NA and EU account, so I don't wanna be losing my money Dx
Hi, sorry about my lacking presence at RSF. I got busy with my off-line life, and though it's settled a bit, there's not much to do here without people posting (which is kind of my fault >.<)

Re: PSN is Down Worldwide
There should be some compensation for time being offline and damages to accounts. I'm on the XBOX Live, so it doesnt affect me, but they need to take responsibility for there mistakes.

Re: PSN is Down Worldwide
I'd like to think they'll offer compensation, but I don't know. Even if they do, it'll just be some free time under their "plus" program which doesn't interest me much.

Re: PSN is Down Worldwide
Relevant news for PSN users. Seems compensation will be in the form of free games. Available games have yet to be announced, so we'll see if it's anything worth downloading.

Re: PSN is Down Worldwide
They're first-party titles, which means games that have only been developed and/or published under Sony or it's subsidiaries. In short, we'll get to choose between games like LittleBigPlanet and MotorStorm.

Re: PSN is Down Worldwide
I'm almost definitely gonna grab inFAMOUS, because I hear it's a lot of a fun and I could use some games that aren't as invested as the rpg's I usually pick up. Besides that, I'll have to look into the other ones. I'm wondering if, as a person who owns a PS3 and a PSP will I be able to choose 2 from the combined lists, or two from each as some people are assuming.
