    Morals or happiness

this is a point of conversation that i have taken up with myself regarding my mentality, that i must question myself on things that i might one day have to face.
and at the moment i am working on this puzzle.

If one is miserable with the way their life is, but is living true to their morals, and is able to hold onto that one snippet of pride, is that a poor life?

If one is living a life of exhilaration and freedom, but obtained that by giving up all that they hold value in, are they living a good life?

and to combine those two, which is more important.

being happy? or being able to say at the end of it all that you did what you felt was right, regardless of what it did to you?
Weakness is just weakness leaving the body.

    Re: Morals or happiness

This is a hard train of thought. I think I put more value in morals, however I've never really dealt with any extremes where I had to do one and deal with the consequences of the other. If anything, I find myself consistently switching between happiness and morals on a regular basis xD

But yeah, I still think I put more into the pile of morals. Not completely because of what is "right", but just some sense of self preservation *shrugs*
Hi, sorry about my lacking presence at RSF. I got busy with my off-line life, and though it's settled a bit, there's not much to do here without people posting (which is kind of my fault >.<)

    Re: Morals or happiness

I believe that if you push aside morals for happiness, your going to end up unhappy because usually someone else get hurt. Example: Woman likes Man, Man is married, but for the sake of being happy, Man and Woman have an affair. Yeah they are happy at the moment. But when Man's wife is suing Man for money, and Man's kids hate Man for hurting Mommy, and Woman has to deal with man's stress, you have to ask yourself, was it worth it. 9/10 times Morals is the way to go. Yeah you aren't happy, but you are more happy than if you go with happiness.
