Well here it comes, the PSP2 or NGP.

    There's so many
    links
    on kotaku
    it's impossible to
    link them
    all here.

Ok...I didn't really think that through....oh well, discuss.

It is actually called the NGP (New Generation Portable). They never mentioned the term PSP2 during the conference (I was reading 3 live blogs about it last night *no life :'D*).

To be honest, I'm interested in the design. First and foremost, I'm just glad that the final design wasn't some sort of slider concept. I'm not a fan of the style, so I'm glad they took a step back so to speak from the PSP Go! design. The front and back touch screen would be interesting to handle, but I'd worry about wear and tear on the eventual system. They never showed a stylus, so I guess it's all hands on at the moment.

A little pouty that it won't play UMDs, but I guess that's expected. They are saying you can still download PSP games off PSN and the NGP is suppose to upscale the graphics or something. The new game hardware kind of looks like a SD card.

A few games were announced, but the most notable I think was an Uncharted game. Whether it's a port or a whole new game, not sure. Also a CoD game, but I'm personally not interested in that.

They also talked about networking with other NGPs, but I kind of tuned out on that >3>

They didn't announce a price, but I can already see this retailing at $300.00 or more. Two cameras, two touch screens, 3G, GPS (wtf?), and capabilities of the PS3 graphics apparently. Yeah, I actually can see that the system would be worth that much in hardware, but I ain't grabbing a handheld that's priced higher than a console system X_x
Hi, sorry about my lacking presence at RSF. I got busy with my off-line life, and though it's settled a bit, there's not much to do here without people posting (which is kind of my fault >.<)

Under $300 is unrealistic, on $300 is a hope....I see this as being $350(meaning it'll be like $500 where I live) or a bit more.

I don't like referring to it as the Next Generation Portable(NGP) cause....well yea...

I'd be more excited if this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PlayStation_Phone
    was coming out soon.

I'm not saying I'm not intrigued by the next generation portable, but not being able to report on the battery life.....really sony?

Man, the old mock ups of this device looked way cooler than the final design. Still, I'm glad it's so much more powerful than the 3DS, as I understand there is high demand for a powerful on the go machine in this day and age. I'm just not a fan of portable gaming.
