Well hello, and welcome to RSF. Interested in joining? Also, I believe we had already agreed to put the plotline after Deception, and before Armageddon. Are you familiar with that timeline?

Somewhat, but so much more can be done story wise with basing it in the new continuity, but I guess after deception before Armageddon would be fine too.

I think basing it in the new canon would be fine, except that so many characters died that it really limits choices.

Hmm... I'm a little unsure myself of what to suggest. It seems everyone is intent on doing post-MK4 (or is is post-Deception?), so I don't see much reason to offer otherwise.

I guess the question is if we should go off of the original or MK9's time line and how much we want to re-imagine events. Additionally, I think there can be a lot of "side-characters" that can be given to one or few people that probably wouldn't interact directly with the plot, such as Ghost Liukang.

I haven't a clue of which character I would want to take responsibility for at the moment... so I'll just wait and see what else everyone has to say. I guess I'll lean on Shang Tsung and/ or Quan Chi if I had to pick.

It's first come, first serve. Feel free to make a character bio for Quan Chi or Shang Tsung. Whoever you'd prefer. Just be sure to use the template from the first post.

And we're doing the old timeline, between Deception and Armageddon. Somebody can use Liu Kang's ghost if they choose him- I don't see why he wouldn't be a separate character.

So all fighters from MK4 up will be considered? What about the downloadable characters such as Skarlet, Kenshi, Rain, Freddy, and Kratos?

Well, the original three MKs are the one from way back. Mortal Kombat 4 was the 3D one with Shinnok in it. There was about forty years between 4 and Deadly Alliance, and then after Deadly Alliance it's Deception. We're starting after Deception, but before Armageddon. Where did I say post-MK4, so I can better explain?

I'm just trying to figure this out here because I didn't start playing Mortal Kombat until this game here and I'm trying to figure out where in the Series this starts.

I'll get you a run-down on the storyline, but for starters, you could go to the Mortal Kombat Wikia, and go to Kitana's page. It'll cover everything that's ever happened to her, almost as well as I could.

Background: Born in the realm of Theage, he is a member of a long extinct clan known as the Aurous Phenux. This clan was the first and only human members to tame Phoenix. In time the blood of human and Phoenix began to mix through battle rituals and medicinal needs creating a new species called the Phenuxoids. For 2000 years the Aurous Phenux ruled the skies of Theage until the descendants of Xhia Lang, Lords of the Beast to flight to the sky, The Dragons and Draconoids. Another species similar to those of the phoenix. The Dragons were able to claim the sky returning it back to the beasts, for the phoenix was not an animal brought to Theage by the Lord of the Beast but was brought to there by a Traveler from the Realm Celestalia, know to most as heaven.

During the battle of the Dragons, Ramon was only 100 years in age which would make him seem 10 in human years. He was sent down to the land to hide by the elders. There he was adopted by a group of rising assassins called The Blood Brotherhood.

Ramon stepped into the realm of Outworld unexpectedly. He was ripped away from a battle in his realm and brought here by a strange force. His surroundings were not like anything he had ever seen before. The trees seem to be alive around him and he was cut off from the power of the sun. Ramon moved through the moaning forest, using the talons on his golden armor to cut his way through the thick, eerie foliage. In the center of the forest was a large ancient structure. Ramon hopes to find his answer as to why he was summoned to this strange realm. But first there is a scent of a birds worst enemy stalking him, Ramon must first deal with his stalker.
