Will there ever be a XBOX handheld?

I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one whose thought about this. For the longest time, Nintendo was soloing it in the handheld market. Than along came Sony with the PSP, and while Nintendo will probably always dominate in the handheld field, the PSP has put up a decent fight.

But what of the XBOX? Would you even want an XBOX handheld? Could it bring in some money to Microsoft? Would it differ from the what the PSP can do? Or would it utterly fail?

Microsoft has a certain flair about them that really goes unnoticed by those who haven't played much xbox. I think if they bothered with a handheld, they'd put a lot of effort into it. Microsoft is good at catering to their fanbase, and so they definitely wouldn't put out a flop. Exclusivity is what makes both Nintendo and Sony, but if Microsoft joined the fray, PSP would lose some of its exclusive games, and Microsoft would have their own. I'm sure they could pull it off. At this point, though, they don't seem to need to. They stand amongst the three top systems, despite not having a handheld. If anything, it's a notable achievement.

I would think the Windows Phone 7 is their attempt at joining the fray....by clashing with the iPhone.

Aren't Microsoft treating the Windows Phone 7 as a handheld alternative? You access your Live account through it and play games involving your avatar.

One must imagine that carrying around an xbox handheld would be like carrying around a gamecube.
