    2011 New Year's Resolutions

So we made it through 2010, guys. With 2011 just around the corner, have there been any resolutions you thought about making for 2011? Whether or not we'll keep them is to be seen, but just in general, anything in mind?

    For me, and I think I've made this resolution in the past, I wanna cut back on fast food. Key point-I won't cut it out completely, because that would be impossible, but I'd like to cut back on it. One of the ways I wanna achieve this is to cook more, so I got a method to start on with, and I hope I'll be able to cut back a decent amount for 2011 ^^;
Hi, sorry about my lacking presence at RSF. I got busy with my off-line life, and though it's settled a bit, there's not much to do here without people posting (which is kind of my fault >.<)

If you do wanna make contact, here are some ways:

    • PM me
    • Email me: mellusia@gmail.com

Again, I'm sorry, but I look forward to hearing from you guys!

    Re: 2011 New Year's Resolutions

My resolution is something i've been wrestling with for a while.

it regards parkour, and what it has done for my life and world.

i'm going to take a break from parkour as a namesake.

i'm going to start from the earliest point, the natural method.
i spent a year trying to get more into parkour, and change who i am.

parts of me did change, i became more outdoorsy, and have become obsessed with actually moving. i dont do things halfway now.
but i still dont have the respect i feel parkour deserves. Parkour, as it's recognized "Creator" saw it, was more than just moving. there was a psychological aspect, a respect to people, and a mindset of being the best you can be, so as to be able to help. (as i felt he meant though multiple interviews, blogs from people associated with him, and videos that delved into what parkour truly was)

so i'm going to try to walk away from parkour specifically for about a year. i'm going to try not to identify as practicing, rather working towards.

i'm going to resolve to train as constantly as feasible, and train not so i can make that next jump, or pull of that roll, or vault, but so i can help refine not only my body, but my mind and mentality regarding what i am trying to be a part of.

some may say i am taking the meaning of practicing parkour to an extreme, and i might be.
but part of me i've come to find out over the past year or so is, I dont do things part of the way anymore. when i really am passionate, i do my best to do it as it was intended to. and that means respecting the mindset and origin of the practice in this case.

In summation, i'm going to walk away from "Parkour" for a year or so.
i will still go to the state meets, and can come practice with people in area, but i cant proclaim being part of it when i still have such a small idea of what it means.
rather than working towards being a tracuer, i'm going to try to become a practitioner of the natural method. it will be difficult, it will be soul wrenching. but if i do this.... i can respect myself when i try to think about me being a "Tracuer", however you choose to define that.
Weakness is just weakness leaving the body.

    Re: 2011 New Year's Resolutions

It isn't exactly a new year's resolution, but I've also never made one. I think it's a silly ritual, and you shouldn't have to have an excuse to try and better your life. Regardless, I'm getting married this year (okay, I still have 8 hours to go, but whatever), so I'm very excited. This is the beginning of a new life for me, it feels, and I'm excited because it helps to mark a significant time in my life when I became happy. There will also be a lot of changes immediately henceforth. Belize, National Guard, eventually the Peace Corps. My life is going to really pick up this year.

    I didn't make any resolutions.

Are you implying I'm not perfect?
