    Devil May Cry 5

I'm not sure if there is a thread on this already or not, if so I'm sorry for posting another.

Just recently I saw a trailer for Devil May Cry 5. It shows a skinner, younger version of Dante with black hair fighting demons. Now right off the bat people hate it as it's not the silver hair Dante we've all grown to love, but as I'm not too sure of what the back story is of the game or whether it's a prequel to a prequel (damn you Capcom, there's already DMC3). I just wanted to know your opinion on the game based off the trailer, or share some information about the game if you know anything.

To be fair, this isn't called DMC5, just DMC, and with the main (?) character looking like that, I have faith it's not the Dante we all know and love.

The whole trailer is screaming some sort of underlining mind-fucking going on. I wouldn't be surprised if this poor guy was brainwashed into thinking he was The Dante xD

Or it could just be a mega alternate universe that has NOTHING to do with the first 4 games, so who knows? I mean, it's being made by the people who did Heavenly Sword and not the ones who did the first 4 games.

In all honestly, the trailer looks pretty kewl. I'll give it a gander when it comes out.

Hi, sorry about my lacking presence at RSF. I got busy with my off-line life, and though it's settled a bit, there's not much to do here without people posting (which is kind of my fault >.<)

Well, Word of God (the games new devs) have stated a few things:
    1. This is a "gritty series reboot" in the form a of a prequel
    2. That IS Dante, only he is younger than in the games we all know and love
    3. He supposedly lives by a more "punk" ethic in this game
    4. The game will chronicle how certain things actually came to be in the later games (silver hair, all that)

    Also, fun fact:
    5. One of the other new designs for Dante featured him in nothing but a pair of pants and suspenders. Punk indeed!

    But yeah, it is here:

I've never actually PLAYED the first 4 games, so this new look is fine by me, but I can see how people would not enjoy it too much.
    I cannot be any clearer.
Take from this what you will, and please feel free to counter anything I have said with some opinions of your own. Which would strictly probably almost be an accepted algorithm essential to the construct and maintenance of a proper discussion.
    Just throwing that out there.

Well thank god that he's not in suspenders and pants >.< there would be no way in hell I'd be able to take him serious after that. It makes me happy to see the developers are trying their best to make sure that this game wins back fans, but at the same time I can see where the fans are coming from when they get upset that he doesn't have the same hair, the same look or anything. He does however still have that cocky attitude, which is good. So long as they don't make this game anything like DMC2 I'll be happy because I'm a huge fan of the series.

So...it IS related to the story?

    Hmmm...

But...It doesn't really make sense. How the feck does half-demon Dante that can take a bullet to the head end up stuck in chains in some underground cell.

Unless the story is about him fully awakening to his demonic powers...Actually, watching the trailer, it looked like his hair started turning white in a scene.

Not to mention this so-called young Dante...looks Older than the one from DMC3 O.o

And why would he have black hair. His father was...Not sure. Maybe white haired (I saw a pic before, but not sure...) and his mommy was blond.

Ah, I dunno. I'm honestly not booing this game, but I dunno...It's just different xD

It's different and confusing to figure out just why the heck he's got black hair XD I'm sure that things will be explained more as time goes on, but I'll still be confused

Here is a few theroies to why he is in chains at the begining of the video. One think about what whey was said, test subject, right well mabe they managed to capture Dante before he had any powers to protect himself doing test on him mabing tring to brain wash him. Then there is theory Two once again they said test subject mabe was artifically incintamated (spelled wrong I think sorry) and them made him, lets face it would you make love to a demon who soul perpuse is to kill and is not even close to human.

    Re: Devil May Cry 5

I was reading on the CAPCOM forums that the whole "What is your name?" thing is related to Dante using a different name after his mom died and before he went back to his birth name.

In all honestly, I'm not really upset by the graphics, character designs, or story reboot. I'm more concerned about the actual gameplay. I heard that it's gonna be made with the Unreal Engine which has a history of being rather buggy :/

    Re: Devil May Cry 5

I've never played any of the Devil May Cry games either, but every time I see a trailer, I'm like "holy shit, that looks amazing." And then I want to play it, but I never do... Plus I don't have a PS3 or an Xbox 360, so it looks like I won't be playing this one either. I do want to keep learning about the story though. This game looks like it'll go hard.
