Question for you Energy Drink Fans/users/abusers

I personally am a user, i occasionally feel i need to grab one to be able to have energy for class and the like, and i had an interesting question.
has anyone else noticed that rockstar is the only drink ALWAYS available?
my key example is in Wal-Mart. you can go in at midnight, and check all their selections of cooled drinks, and almost EVERYTHING will be out. except the rockstars. Monsters? gone. NOS? gone. No Fear? gone. Everything else? gone. Rockstars? ABUNDANTLY AVAILABLE. is there just a massive hatred of these drinks, or does walmart just REALLY love them?

personally, i prefer a No Fear or an AMP'd

I'm not a fan of energy drinks. I've drank them a few times, but only when coffee (my preferred source of caffeine. I don't like sodas.) was not available.) Sugar is definitely the primary source of energy in these things, and I'm not that big on sugar.

    I guess not.

I'd guess your issue is a local one. Around here, Monster is most popular so that's what's usually in stock.

I love the orange Monster and the original Rockstar. I have to refrain from drinking them because they make me shake uncontrollably. I use to have one every other month or so till the shaking got bad. Can't handle all the caffeine I guess.

Re: Question for you Energy Drink Fans/users/abusers

I used to be an abuser a few years ago, in my sophomore year of high school.
I'd down one just about every day, either to stay awake after school, or for just absolutely no reason. Now I have one on occasion.
Maybe your issue is local, or just doesn't occur here. All of the stores I go to around here, there's no real alarming scarcity of any energy drinks. Rockstar, amp, and Monster are the only ones I see everywhere, and usually everything is in stock.

I find Rockstar to be terrible, along with No Fear Gold.
Personally, I like Full Throttle (original and blue demon), amp, No Fear, and a couple flavors of Wired X.
I loved TGI's Red Bull slush, but there's not one of those around anymore.

Truth be told my favorite would be the normal No Fear. i hate rockstar, i was just wondering if i could hope they were going out of business or something. they just never seem to be in stock with the good kinds (no fear, amp'd, and the large monsters with a resealable cap) the monster i just like cause of the size of them. XD

sadly, i have never had a redbull. i would, but their price seems off balance in comparison to the others. just doesnt seem worth it...... XD

Clearly you don't live in England, where Relentless and Red Bull are everywhere.

I rarely see anyone drink Red Bull outside of mixed drinks.

I once made a tower out of the cans.

Then it reached my ceiling and I made a new one.

I kept making more until I realised they was making my room smell.

I'm not an energy drink fan but there is one energy drink I have a severe weakness towards....

    JOLT!

I dunno what it is, other than the awesome taste or the huge badass cans but JOLT is just the best goddamn energy beast out there (and probably the only energy drink I actually enjoy)....the only problem is now they're bankrupt....and I'm left with the last of the JOLT stock in Europe. :-(

I've tried a lot of energy drinks but the UK doesn't really have a large variety. We get Rockstar, Red Bull, Monster, Relentless, Red Devil and a few others but I gotta say I did quite enjoy Rockstar when I tried it. My problem is that energy drinks don't really do much for me. I don't get a buzz and they don't keep me awake. I drank four cans of Rockstar in a row when I did a FFXIII marathon with my cousin and we both fell asleep at around 5:00am. I've stayed awake longer without the use of energy drinks.

A friend of mine bought quite a large supply of JOLT! from a corner shop near him. All the cans are dented and stuff but it's good to drink.

Re: Question for you Energy Drink Fans/users/abusers

I'm sorry, I really can not get into energy drinks. The fact is that I find them to taste absolutely awful. I had a zip of this "Monster" brand at work, but I did literal spit-take. Incredible awful, and it doesn't seem to be worth the extra boost of energy. I rather drink coffee or soda, please and thank you.

I guess the proper remedy is to change up one's routine so that you don't need to rely on "unnatural" forms of energy, but that ain't happening anytime soon >_>
Hi, sorry about my lacking presence at RSF. I got busy with my off-line life, and though it's settled a bit, there's not much to do here without people posting (which is kind of my fault >.<)

Re: Question for you Energy Drink Fans/users/abusers

I can't believe I haven't posted here. I LOVE ENERGY DRINKS. I think I used to be a bit of an aficianado in the niche, but I've grown past it. Fact of the matter is, most energy drinks are subpar, in my humble opinion. Some focus too much on energy, and not enough on taste. Some focus too much on low sugar, sodium, etc. and also sacrifice taste. The ones that are popular because they've blended taste and energy often just don't suit my fancy. However, the energy drink I continually go back to, and drink with frequent regularity, is Full Throttle. Monster is crap, and things like Vault don't have the feel that I'm going for. But I love the taste of Full Throttle, and they even have three flavors that are all great (Original, which is citrus, iirc. Red Berry, and Blue Agave are also both excellent). I think it's because I like a smoothness to my carbination. I prefer Pepsi over Coke for the same reason- Pepsi is smoother. Full Throttle is about as smooth as it gets, and it has great flavor and an excellent energy boost, too.

Re: Question for you Energy Drink Fans/users/abusers

When I first began college, I found myself dependent on energy drinks to get me through my early morning classes. I worked at a local grocery market then, so I'd grab a couple the evening before school and consume them the next day. They taste like shit. Seriously. They taste terrible AND they're terrible for your body. That's why I no longer drink them.

One day at work, I drank four of 'em for kicks. Shortly after, I got a headache and took some Excedrin unaware of the high caffeine contained in the pills. Combined with all the energy drink already in my system, my heart raced at roughly 180 beats per minute. I had uncontrollable shakes for hours. I stopped abusing energy drinks after that episode.

Oh, and to end, the ONLY energy drink that tastes particularly good is Rockstar Punched. It's like carbonated Hawaiin Punch. Awesome!
