Do you take your local transit on a regular basis?

I think it's fair to say not everyone has the money to spend on a car and the eventual investments that come with it, but sometimes biking just can't cut it out, and sometimes it would be ridiculous to walk hours on end for a location.

What does that leave? Public transit.

For me, this is a resounding yes. I need to use public transit for work, school, and the rare times I just go out for fun. The prices have increased over the years for fairs and tickets/passes and the service has a lot of issues, but I'm stuck with it, and when it does come on time, and there are enough seats, and the AC or heater on the bus works...and there are more tolerable people on the bus than not, it's alright =D

    How about you guys?
Hi, sorry about my lacking presence at RSF. I got busy with my off-line life, and though it's settled a bit, there's not much to do here without people posting (which is kind of my fault >.<)

If you do wanna make contact, here are some ways:

To be honest, true to my spoiled suburban nature, I've taken the subway once in my entire life (to an underground carnival) and the bus only when I go to Ocean City (not counting school, which I started taking the school bus to 4 years ago when I stopped going to Catholic school).

I drive everywhere. We have a bus line but i'm afraid of getting shot at the bus stop.

Our public transportation pretty much just takes you to places in the city. I live out in the suburbs, so not having a car means you're at the mercy of whoever does have a car.

Luckily, I do have a car. I've never taken public transportation, unless you count riding the schoolbus in grade school.

Not having a car, I have to use the bus if I really want to get somewhere if I don't want to walk.
The bus was my ticket everywhere a couple of years ago. I hated depending on someone to come pick me up.

Now I either walk or bum off of my parents for rides.
I may have to use the bus if I can get this job I applied for.

I avoid using public transport unless I absolutely need to.

Then again, public transportation here involve buses with no air conditioning and a 1 in 3 chances of going standing up in a moving death trap...

I mostly walk or ask my mother for a ride.

I'm going to start taking the train to school. It's going to be really weird. My parents said it would save time and all the traffic to and from my school is awful so I can understand.

Before this I'd only taken the train to and from festivals and the like.

I really miss taking the bus. I use to take it everywhere and it was a must for my school since my school had buildings that where about a mile apart from each other. Honestly, i miss the people i saw on the bus more than anything. Intriguing people.

I have to. It takes me 5-10 minutes to get to work on a bus, it's either that or a 40-45 minute walk. The reason I don't walk is because I get up half an hour before I have to be at work. I'm hoping to get a bike soon. Y'know, a proper one, with a basket and a bell that goes DING!

Re: Do you take your local transit on a regular basis?

I have been riding the train for about three weeks now. I ride it twice three times a week. I am scared! Crazy things happen on the train. My second week I saw an It with a cup and a sponge. It was washing all of it's tender parts in front of everyone on the train. This week I've just had scary old man pervs asking to massage me. No Joke. I'm guessing he thought I was in my mid. twenties because when I said I just turned nineteen he told me to have a nice day and walked off. Today was the best incident though. I was looking over a railing at a nicely dressed business man who decided he'd start to try and dig his brain out of his nose. I burst into laughter and had to look away. Unfortunately, I was on the same train as he was and I had to contain my laughing.

I hate public transportation for the most part. It's really scary for a girl with no backbone.

I've taken public transit my entire life haha. I grew up in a big city, and my family doesn't own a car -- which we don't need to because without public transit, the city would like, fall apart. I moved to another city for school, and I still take the bus everyday. It's just a part of me.

Re: Do you take your local transit on a regular basis?

With me being back in school, I take the bus to and from school everyday...and I hate it. The mornings aren't bad; it's the afternoons that piss me off. My bus is always late to the transit center so I'm always ditched by my friends, and like a million people ride that particular bus. It's like an obstacle course getting off at my stop because there's so many damn people just standing around on that shit.
Also, this creepy guy sat next to me today and I kept seeing him staring at me through the corner of my eye. He nodded at me so I looked over and he smiled all creeper-like...I promptly went back to staring out the window...I kept trying to shake my hair into my face but I still saw him creepin' ... >__<
