They've only gone and made a shooter. That's Square-Enix of Japan. A shooting game... developed by Square-Enix of Japan studios.
Wanna know what's weirder? This is an Xbox 360 exclusive. Wanna know what's even weirderer? The game's characters were made as fully poseable action figures first and then scanned in to the game.
Maybe it's just me, but this sounds like a giant prank.
Oh, Activision. What have you done?
A representative of Square-Enix of Japan has recently unveiled some information regarding the game, titled Gun Loco. To quote:
"At the farthest reaches of the solar system, a collection of the craziest criminals in the universe are incarcerated on a remote prison planet with no walls and forgotten by society. In this long-abandoned world, the only rule is anarchy, as each faction fights in a bloodthirsty race for survival, power and freedom. Through several seven climate zones and numerous stylized maps, players must fight through the ruins of the world's previous civilizations, taking on each region's inmates in a frantic and frenetic struggle to survive. This is essentially a third-person shooter with online play. It also has "sprint-action shooter" gameplay, enabling you to make use of the evironment by " running, jumping, ducking and vaulting" to escape your enemies. There is purportedly a big arsenal of weapons and each character comes with individual "kill move[s], coupled with a mocking take-down taunt".
Online play will see you pitted in matches against 11 other players.
