Asylum: A Scarecrow's Tale (II)

Holly River Asylum is one of the largest mental health establishments in the world. Nestled away deep in the woods and away from everything else, it’s practically its own town. It has a multitude of different buildings, sections, and wings so as to keep the patients properly separated. Women are kept separate from men, children have their own building, and patients are sorted by the severity of their condition. And the most prominent feature is the rising cylindrical tower, where the most extreme cases are kept locked away from the rest of society.

The Reality of Holly River is nothing short of hell. This is where people are taken, forgotten, and given a status of less then human. Cruelty and abuse are the everyday, both from fellow patients and from the neglectful staff. Suicide is the only true means of escape. It is commonly referred to as “Holly Hell” by its inhabitants. Now a darkness has consumed Holly River, and it has truly become one with hell.

It happened in a single night. The very buildings themselves changed. Madness and pain were given form, most people lost their humanity and became visions of madness. Those that retained their form and what was left of their mind were killed off for the most part, by their own hands or by the horrific monsters that now stalk the dark hallways of the asylum.

This RP starts after that first night, when a handful of survivors unexplainably find themselves in a strange empty field inhabited only by a strange immobile scarecrow man. He claims to be a god and their only hope of escape, but first they must help him regain his stolen power. They’ll use the strange powers they’ve been blessed, or cursed, with to venture into the depths of darkness and retrieve what the scarecrow is asking for. They’ll have to fight the madness of Holly river, and their inner demons given flesh. Every supply and weapon is impossibly important if they plan to survive, and have any hope of escape.

Character Creation
Notice, you need to put a lot of work into your characters for this RP. That means a detailed bio that makes me understand why exactly your character is in Holly River. If you wish to keep your character’s past a secret, you still must pm it to me. All characters require approval, but late entries will be accepted since it’s easy enough to say the main group found another survivor.
Also, all characters can start with one special power. Be aware that for now it will be somewhat weak, but over the course of the RP it can become stronger. Also, if you wish, you can opt to have a “hidden power.” This means that instead of choosing a power, I will decide the nature of your ability. This also means that you won’t get your power until the other players get their first “level up” for their powers. It’s up to you.

Gender: Character’s g-okay, if you don’t know what this is you don’t belong in this RP.
Appearance: What your character look like.
Personality: a bit about your character’s personality.
Special Power: Your character’s special power. Be creative! Tie it into your characters mental state or background if you can.
Bio: This is the important part. Be sure to tell all about your character’s mental issues, and background. How long he’s been at Holly River, and what section he was in. Characters without decent bios will be told to try again before being accepted.

Appearance
Patric is a caucasian man of average height and slender build. He isn't physically strong, but exhudes an authoritative air born of sizeable life experience and stoic mannerisms. Patric has piercing light blue eyes and pure white medium-length slicked back hair that is receeding at the front. Patric has severe burn scars on his entire left arm, leaving his left hand almost grotesquely deformed and with limited funcionality.

Personality
Patric's greatest love is poetry, especially verses in Latin. He is a reserved and quiet man who seldom speaks to many, but instead introspectively contemplates the sadness of all things.

Special Power
Patric can communicate with the dead. He is essentially a spiritual medium. Advantages of this include being endowed with otherwise unattainable information and knowledge. At an advanced stage, Patric can temporarily "borrow" specific attributes from a spirit.

Bio
Patric spent five years on tour in a far flung country fighting as much against the horrors of war as the enemy. He survived a broken man and returned home a husk. Doctors diagnosed him with a severe case of shellshock at first but after extensive testing they couldn't pronounce a formal diagnosis. And so at the age of thirty-one Patric was admitted to Holly River Asylum where he has been in a low security wing since. Reading and thinking. Reading and thinking. Crying and sleeping. Reading and thinking.

And then Hell opened. And Patric cried tears of blood.

Yeah I'm sorry about last time, and not being very active, just everything got a little outta hand, still is in a sense, constantly looking for work, along with working on another site, still, if it's okay I'm going to put some work into making a character for this, look over some of my old profiles and such.

Appearance
Paul has a pale face and dark brown eyes. He has black moptop hair, and prefers to be well groomed. He wears dress pants and a Nehru jacket, with well-shined black boots. His jacket helps to disguise how skinny he is, but only makes him look taller than his 6+ feet.
Personality
Michael isn’t interested in most things. He is obsessed with blood and most other things bore him. He may ignore others or walk off during a conversation. When he sees what he wants, he’s reckless in his attempt to obtain it.

Special Power
Michael has powers over his favorite thing in the world: blood. He can draw out his own blood and form it into an extremely hard and dangerous material, though at first he can only form needle-sized objects from it. He can drain blood from others and store it into his body. His internal workings are a mystery.
Bio
Michael Paul was a bright young youth, who was popular with everyone who knew him. He wasn’t close to many people though. With no doubt, the person he loved most and was closest too was his younger sister. His world fell apart when his father raped and severely injured her. He murdered his father. Then he murdered his mother. Then his younger sister. He had just finished murdering the friendly neighbors when he was arrested. It was only natural for him to be sent to the Holly River facility, since he was such a severe case…and since his uncle was warden. That was almost 50 years ago. Micheal Paul committed his crime in the sixties, and he killed himself shortly after his commitment…but death is not always the end at Holly River.
