Anime series that were better than their manga counter-part?
So I've been wondering if there are any animes that were somehow better than the original manga version.
Usually mangas come before animes, so there's some prejudice that the original source material is the ultimate version. And often, I personally do find that the mangas are better than the animes that come after, but I'd like to know of any animes that you think were better than the mangas O.O
Or does such a thing even exist? xD
Hi, sorry about my lacking presence at RSF. I got busy with my off-line life, and though it's settled a bit, there's not much to do here without people posting (which is kind of my fault >.<)

I honestly don't think it's possible. Since animes usually suffer Adaptation Decay to some degree.

What about manga that were adapted from anime? Like KujiUn, for example. I like the manga better, though.

Haha! You may never find the answer to that question, I'm afraid. Especially since whether the anime is better than the manga will be a matter of preference above all else.
I've learned that people tend to lean toward manga in terms of quality because there's usually so much that goes on within them, and once its adapted to anime a lot of things get omitted due to deadline and episode restrictions. Thinking about it, I can't think of a single anime adapted from a manga that people were genuinely satisfied with.

That's probably true. Although to just throw this out there, I read Ouran High School Host Club and saw the anime, and I found them to be one par with each other >.<
The manga is still on-going of course, but I'd love for there to be a second season of that :3

Re: Anime series that were better than their manga counter-part?
I think it's a close clall for me between Karin and Chibi Vampire. I love the manga and followed it from the first book on religiously but in the long run I prefered Karin. Chibi Vampire was still on-going when they released Karin so the stories are quite different.
I read Host Club and watched the anime and didn't really enjoy the ending of it. I would be please if they released a second season.
Has anyone watched all of Tsubasa:Reservoir Chronicle? I've heard some people say it's better than the manga but find that a bit hard to believe. The manga's just too amazing.

I personally think D.Gray-Man's filler episodes were really good, though I don't read manga so anything manga-related about DGM I heard from friends who read it. But I like how they expanded on story material in a good way.
