I'm curious as to what brought people here, who recommended this site to them and all that. I personally was referred here by TELIMS, for Doaj's Pokemon Storyline.

What brought you all here?

(personally i am really interested in Contra's story, seeing as she is a maker. i've always been kind of curious as to what brought the creation of RSF on.)

Someone (I forget who) embedded one of my Phoenix Wrong videos here, and I checked my thing on YouTube that tells me where my videos have been embedded.
And here I am today.

Ryvius called me late one Tuesday night.
He was bawling into his phone at a level that I, quite frankly, didn't feel comfortable with.
I could almost smell the liquor on his breath, and he made it known that he had had " a whoooole lawt to drinkh".
He began burbling on about all his "problems". Something about "all the dogs in my neighborhood must HATE my testicles being attached to my body" or something. I also recall him mentioning it being his period, and that the mailman would make a disgusted face and yell obscenities about his "stink pit" when they met.
Of course, I had just gotten the hang of flipping my television remote around my finger (EVERY TIME, PEOPLE), so I basically wasn't listening throughout the phone call. At one point, I put the phone down to inspect some sort of moldy growth on the ceiling for, like, 15 minutes. When I picked up again, he was just making angry constipation noises with what sounded like "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" on in the background. After a few minutes of that (and me not giving a flying fuck), he mentioned that the talk had been good. He said he loved me and hung up the phone.

A few days later, I found this site through sheer force of will.
I decided to stay.

Let's see...I had taken a break from the internet, as I have done two or three times in my life. I believe this time it had only lasted a year or less, but when I finally got back on...everything had changed. Life moves so fast on the outside...old forums had vanished, or all the people I knew were gone...messenger contacts become obsolete! I was...so scared.

And as I was logging on to old forums, Kendra happened to see me online. She told me get my ass on messenger, and I did. She got straight to the point, gave me linkage, and here I am today. These days I don't get around on the interwebz much, but I do log onto RSF everyday. It's a comfortable balance.

I was looking at her Profile on RoleplayerGuild and her link caught my attention, and so here I am.

I got jealous of my Ryvius spending time here and so I followed him. He'd left it in the history on my computer so I looked around and ended up enjoying it. I was never part of a forum before and am not very active but it's fun anyway. It helped pass the time at work too.

Kendra dragged me from Deviantart (where I found her; I had RPed with her years prior to that on VF) to FFF, from there to SEF (now PEF) and from there to here.

Kendra was the guilty party for me, too, actually. I had gone to a few sites with her, and she was a more stable person to follow (Austin!) and so wherever she went, I went. To give credit where credit is due, Austin had linked me to (FFF, I think?) another forum where there were some better RPers, and that's where I met Kendra. She linked me here and said there was a surprise for me. She knows nothing of my sexual interests, so I was curious. Turns out she had made my lobster () a smilie. She didn't get to surprise me though because in my intro thread I put the lobster smilie in and said that if it wasn't a smilie then Kendra didn't care about me. It was, but she was distraught that she didn't get to spring it on me on her own terms. lolol.

I had created RSF after staffing / administrating / owning several forums, and wanting to set out on my own to create a small, tightly knit community that focused on more underloved entertainment and not the mainstream that the communities I was previously a member of had focused on. It was meant to be a fresh new start, and it's been more successful than my previous ventures, because of the great people I was able to meet / interact with as a result of the community.

There isn't a single member at RSF I dislike, or wish I didn't know. While RSF isn't an active community, it's still tight-knit and consisting of much more quality than the other boards I frequent.
