Re: The 2D Fighter Thread: Catchy Subtitle Here!

I picked up Continuum Shift last night and DAMMIT, its pissing me off.
I'm not sure what to think of the art style change, but that's beside the point.
I've just played the tutorial and am stuck in arcade with Ragna.
    God-mode Hazama = rage.
As a terribly mediocre Blazblue-r, I find him extremely frustrating. I have yet to beat him after like 20 tries. Not even one round. No joke. T_____T
    *sulks*

I think he's frustrating me more than the boss of DOA4...and she made me want to break my tv.

    [edit]
Well, it figures that after I post this, I beat him.
Apparently I have to bitch about things before thy work. It seems that way 70% of the time.

I've been playing Super Street Fighter 4.

I can't believe how unbelievably complicated that game is....

I'm average(at a casual level) on any other street fighter game and I can't completely assimilate the fact that in SSF4 I get my head pounded into the ground in every single game....

Also a token ARGH! SETH.WHO.DESIGNED.HIM.TO.BE.SO.****************.CH EAP!!!!!!! *degenerates into a drooling mess*

I really want to play BlazBlue, too. I hear so many good things about it. Akenune (sp?) looks like he'll be my character.

    Arakune*

All the characters look so dope. Omgosh. So dope. That was one of my favorite parts about Guilty Gear too.

BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger is amazing. When I first played it, the first thing I noticed was the epic soundtrack. v-13's theme song is fuckin' nuts. I haven't played the sequel but I'm sure it's awesome. I'm planning on getting it soon. The only thing this series needs is more characters. At least 10 more.

My main character is Noel. I really fuck shit up with that chick, lol. I also use Haku-men, Jin, Arakune, and SOMETIMES Ragna.

Aside from that I've played almost all of the Street Fighter games(Alpha 3 is my favorite fighting game of all time), Guilty Gears, King of Fighters 98, Capcom vs. SNK 2, all Soul Calibur games, all Marvel vs. Capcom games, and I can't remember any others.

Yah, Arakune. That's definitely right. I immediately looked through the cast of the game for the non-human looking characters. Was met with critical success.

Ky and Jin, easy characters, Sol and Ragna, pro? I don't see Ragna having that much potential, at least not in Calamity Trigger, in Continuum Shift, he's amazing, getting moved up to S tier with Bang and Litchi. Also, Belial Edge (Or whatever the fuck his new aerial dive is) looks AMAZING

I'm interested in BlazBlue as well, but could I get away with playing the watered down PSP versions without missing much from the console versions? Obviously graphics and sound would suffer a bit in comparison, but what about gameplay? Anyone willing to comment on that? :3

I actually have Guilty Gear for the Wii, but never really properly played it much >.<

I kind of want to get Marvel vs Capcom 3 because characters I love are in it and I loved MvC2 for the PS1 so much, so I'm hoping to be entertained again ^_^
Hi, sorry about my lacking presence at RSF. I got busy with my off-line life, and though it's settled a bit, there's not much to do here without people posting (which is kind of my fault >.<)

Well I guess new stuff is out now, but from what I heard Blazblue portable is a faithful port of the first game. You just don't get online functionality unless you're using adhoc party or something.

Well I did get BlazBlue CT for the PS3 a little while ago. I played Ragna's story mode the first time (is there more 'cause I finished it at 46%, but I dunno how that's possible O.o). I remembering getting stuck for a while at Jin, and I still don't really know how I managed to beat him at last. Blocking seems to be key, but I couldn't memorize some of the dodging moves and there's this one move where you can actually catch the opponent..? Plus something that really weakens your defense, but is suppose to damage your opponent? Somehow I could never time that right >_>

In Calamity Trigger, you have to lose fights on purpose to get %, or in some characters stories, finish the opponent with a distortion drive to open a different part of their story. Also, choosing each options of the choice windows that pop up in the stories are crucial to getting 100%
