So, I've only really PLAYED (As in, put LOTS of work into) Guilty Gear, BlazBlue, a few Soul Calibur games and various Samurai Showdown titles. But besides that, I've played a little bit of DarkStalkers, Melty Blood: Actress Again (I REALLY need to get FMCB working) Mortal Kombat (Broken as hell, not very fun for serious play, just for the lulz.)

Anyway, resuming on the old discussion, Ky and Jin, easy characters, Sol and Ragna, pro? I don't see Ragna having that much potential, at least not in Calamity Trigger, in Continuum Shift, he's amazing, getting moved up to S tier with Bang and Litchi. Also, Belial Edge (Or whatever the fuck his new aerial dive is) looks AMAZING, I've seen a lot of the major Ragnas (Mainly Kaqn, as he's the one of the few Ragnas I watch) do wonders with it.

By the way, any other Bang players here?

On-topic, I like the Touhou fighting games, but those are the only 2-D fighters I've really played. I've played a little bit of Street Fighter II, but it was too damn frustrating to play. I'm a wuss.

However, Bang vs. Tao, FUN, although if I remember correctly, Tao has the advantage in that matchup, due to her bouncing all over the place.

I love me some Street Fighter. Mortal Kombat is probably my favorite fighting game. Oh! Except for Tekken. Wait, no MK is still the top, but I loved Tekken 3 back in the day. And the GBA version of Tekken was the shit. I got some awesome high scores on that mother fucker.

Has anyone ever played Eternal Champions? That game should've been much more popular than it was. In fact, there were supposed to be another game released. However, the series was scrapped in favor of Virtua Fighter. Eternal Champions trumps Virtua Fighter all day, every day. Apparently it was said that

Sega of Japan felt that Eternal Champions was keeping Virtua Fighter from being more successful in the US and that it would be better if the company focused on only one franchise.. ..and as Sega is a Japanese company, the Japan side won.

Grr.

Anyway, the game itself is awesome. It is really a shame that it didn't get the props it deserves. I daresay it's even more epic than Mortal Kombat for me... and I love Mortal Kombat. I haven't played the second game (which is not entirely separate from the first game... it has more ways to finish off characters and it is more bloody on a whole), but I watched the happy/gory endings for most of the characters. The original game was for Sega Genesis... the second game was for Dreamcast (I think).

It definitely deserves a revival. I hope production on the third game will resume someday.
