NOTE: This post is mostly Recycled Human's, and all material relating to the RP is currently his own. Doaj (myself) will be periodically updating this post as things progress through the RP. I have permission from Recycled Human to reboot 'Noise', much to my excitement, and I hope that we can have tons of fun.

Words To Know:
Exemplar: The inner fighting spirit, a handful have learned to harness this weapon and physically materialize it. Induced by states of desperation or when the user is overcome by specific emotions, the user pilot’s this other self while their own bodies become statuesque. Stuck in whatever state the pilot was last in. An exemplar can be anything, from animal to abstract to humanoid.
Pilot: A pilot is one of the rare upworlders who can create physical representations of themselves and control directly the consciousness of the new being.
Jockey: A pilot who refuses to leave their Exemplar’s body.
Living Metal: A robotic entity first crafted by human hand, capable of working directly with any substance it comes in contact with, giving a semi-liquid consistency that bends eagerly. There are many different types but most have developed a hive mentality and therefore conform to the will of a Controller. It is said to have developed a consciousness of its own and though some worship it, the entity itself seems content to go about rudimentary tasks and just do whatever the Controller instructs it to do.

The promise of paradise is the only prize. The pay sucks, the hours are long and the environment is the second most dangerous place on the planet. The first being your hometown.

Locations & Battlefields:
Underdome: All characters will start in the Underground Arena. An entire coliseum built on the outskirts of ‘Fountain’. Though the massive structure appears to be made from white brick and mortar, it is actually a substantially durable alloy capable of withstanding the heat from the radioactive isotopes still active within the earth’s core. To view it from a distance one would assume it was the Roman equivalent turned upside down, with the open top of the massive structure actually a series of cameras and lights sandwiched between sturdy, heat resistance polymer. The interior boasts seating by the millions cordoned off in six separate boxes representing the Fountain crest of the hexagon, it features a multitude of ‘pop-in’ terrain that can be switched on the fly by the Director. At any given time there may be any number of banners strung about the sides of each box representing crowd favorites coupled by cheers and jeers for each favored combatant.
Routinely New Inductees will be taken to a Framework Grid, literally a skeletal black on blue landscape intended for both bonding the Pilot to their Exemplar and charting out their current attributes to be recorded in an ever evolving personal file. The Grid is designed to remove all outside interference and tends to take place on the sidelines of any given match in an outing not unlike a baseball dugout.
Wildlife found in the arena is generated by the same Living Metal responsible for upkeep and operations, though they aren’t the real thing expect them to be just as lethal. This goes equally for any of the plant-life and terrain conditions. It is expected that each combatant view their home away from home as more than a Virtual Reality.
Fountain of Youth: Touting itself as the first paradise of earth, Fountain of Youth is the fast pace world beneath our world. It was designed for us after the near-nuclear fallout of our previous generations, their heavy warring driving the civilized world into hiding. This city is run and operated by Living Metal, a self sustaining hive-like entity that propitiates life underground. The city operates without the citizens needing to work. Crime rate is a growing concern for the tenuous government but with the advent of the arena most are content to just watch the blood sports. The city itself is a spectacle of lights and sounds, tunnels and tall buildings.
Noise: There is a reward for those with the gift. Everyone knows about it, blowing the whistle on a pilot results in three months of rations. The city of Noise is a mish-mash of ruined sky scrappers, deserted complexes and downed air liners. There is no system of government though the unwanted citizens of Fountain have formed an alliance in the hopes of establishing commerce. Their principle trading stock relies on a constant supply of Pilots. Anyone found with the gift would usually be whisked away by bounty hunters into the buried metropolis where some of the old technology still works. Subject to constant raids from local monsters and roaming wasteland gangs, Noise is considered the most dangerous place on earth.

So Why Do We Fight?
Conflict: What do you get for the citizen that has everything? Why, entertainment of course. And that’s all Noise has to offer, a constant slug fest of flesh against flesh, blood spilling, gut wrenching and bone splitting entertainment. Well, kind of. In the years following the near-nuclear fallout of prior generations, odd mutations have begun to well up in unsuspecting survivors. For the select few suffering a reaction from the material they possess the inner fortitude to make their dreams a reality and in some cases, control them. Though not entirely real, each Pilot can draft an Exemplar of themselves to interact with the physical world surrounding them. Though most were surprised when their inner spirit revealed themselves none were quite as surprised when those physical incarnations shared real pain back to the owner’s bodies. Now, there’s only one thing to do with an Exemplar and it’s Pilot. And that’s to force them all to fight!

A Final Note & Sign-Ups:
This Role Play is dedicated to battle. It rewards creativity and guile while honing personal style and teamwork. It ostracizes the cancer of romance while providing for budding relationships among its participants. All of this is achieved by my Stat progression system. And once you’ve experienced the difficult yet rewarding process for yourself, I feel you will enjoy fighting as much as I enjoy crafting this world.
This Role Play will be using Involved Tags. At the end of every post you should include a reference to which players (username : character) were involved. Most on this forum should be familiar with it so see the actual role play for examples.
If you choose to sign up, all you have to do is decide a character you want to play. It can be yourself, someone you know or even one of your own creations. From there, I want you to ask yourself a simple question: "If they were forced to fight, how would they do it?" Once you have a general idea in mind. Fill out this form:

Just to be clear, you will be signing up your Exemplar at first. It’s good to have a concept ready for the pilot but things can change. In this way, I’m hoping people will have the time required to both put finishing touches on their main character and find out all there is to know about this new and exciting atmosphere.

Exemplar Name : Abigail Annetta
Stage Name : Nives
Race : Human
Weapon : Knives, Daggers and short swords
Abilities : Uses superior speed and knife handling skill to subdue her opponents. Relies on animalistic instincts akin to a wolf stalking its prey. Through sheer emotional rage or determination she can increase the durability of her blades making it possible to cut through almost anything. This requires an extreme emotional state and is therefore uncontrollable.
Personality : Abigail is a very loyal girl, to those who’ve earned her respect she shows a deep emotional understanding and a sweet, almost motherly display of concern. To the rest of the world she’s a cruel, calculating bitch. Displaying only one emotion : Righteous Fury. Though her outside demeanor appears steady and controlled, her inner turmoil fervor's between insanity and brilliance. Her aggression is tempered only by justice being served, in whatever form that may take. Considering that most of her first encounters are made at knife point it’s hard to see the cubs beyond the bear.
Appearance : Abigail is all about functionality, her choices in everything from clothing to hairstyle is meticulously selected and specifically weighted by a series of pro’s and con’s. Her purple hair is long enough in the front to minimize a round, cutesy face yet short enough to not get unnecessarily tangled or create any blind spots during rigorous exertion. To the same effect, she chose a fashion that would still be considered attractive in the event that she may require a woman’s guile. Her almond shaped eyes are covered by a thin contact that changes her naturally dull brown eye color to an ensemble matching shade of bright purple. The umbrella of her pencil thin asymmetrical eyebrows sit placidly at the base of her forehead giving her a look of feline mischief. If anyone could see her nose however, they would find it betrays her finickiness. The button shape makes her seem innocent, so while in combat she tends to wear a white nose guard that fastens behind her head. If asked she would probably reply ‘I cut it off, despite me.’ She stands at an average 5’7 and has an athletic build. Abigail wears a tight fitting purple and black jumpsuit complete with several loops and pockets with buttons for disposing of her more deadly accessories.
