Updates & New Features!

New Features for RSF:

Well, guys, since yesterday I've been working on a new update to get all the software and skins updates, as well as installing a few new modifications and features. So, before I break anything, here's the new additions:

1.) Rotating Banners:
This was a feature many of you should remember from the original RSF, and it's back once again! The two new beautiful banners you see were by our talented Mellusia, and she's going to be working on some new ones for us as well. =) Be sure to thank her!

If you go to your Settings -> General Settings - Preferred Banner, you can actually choose a default banner to use, incase the random ones are slowing down the forum for you.

2.) Full Quick Reply:
As some of you may have noticed, the Quick Reply now has all of the options on it, the smilies, youtube, spoiler tags, alignment, font size, etc. You'll see that this is active on both posts, blogs, and visitor messages. You can also now add attachments to your posts straight from the quick reply area. Hopefully this will make things easier for everyone, and make posting quicker.

3.) Change Your Own Username:
Users can now change their own username through the 'Edit Profile' section of their Settings. You can currently only change your username every 21 days, so if you need to make another change, please use the 'Username Change' Thread.

You'll also notice [Thanks to DickDoaj.] that there is now a 'Username History' tab in everyone's profile. This will make figuring out who is who during forum themes much easier, as well as cause some amusing spam threads. [See: This Thread.]

4.) Who Has Read A Thread:
This is a minor little add on, but members can now view who has read a thread at the bottom of every thread. Just click on the little icon on the bottom right to pull down the bar. I have it set to automatically be collapsed, so it won't clog up the page too much.

5.) Fixed The Signature Spacing Issue:
I've gone ahead and fixed an issue where there was a lot of excess space before the signature in posts. Viewing threads should be much more enjoyable now, as the threads are about a third as tall as they used to be.

6.) Strikethrough:
RSF now has the ability to use strikethrough! Just hit the little white icon to do it.

I made a few minor edits to the post, because there is now an ability for members to pick exactly what banner they want to use, if they don't want to have them rotating. ^^;

I never understood how Richard was shortened to 'Dick,' to be honest. And I still giggle whenever I think about the username fiasco. XD!

I think you misunderstood. She meant that because of the whole deal with Doaj's name being changed that the feature was brought to everyone's attention.
She didn't mean that the feature existed because of Doaj. To your credit, it didn't help that Kendra misunderstood you in turn. xD
