"Yesterday was a day that will stand out in history. Esthar Garden
was forever changed when a sociopathic young man, Dave Whihamner, the
victim of illegal underground experimentation, assaulted the Esthar
Garden. Reports tell he was searching for another SeeD member, Akira
Kurama, who had fled his during the week prior; details unknown.
Several students engaged Dave Whihamner in combat, trying to subdue
the Galbadian student. An instructor intervened, whose family has
chosen to keep his identity secret, and attempted to break up the
Guardian Enforced fighting that ensued between the young man and
several other students. Akira Kurama passed away due to complications
which are still under circumstantial review, but it seems it was
irrelevent to the fighting that had taken place.

Unfortunately the instructor, who was put in a situation which
legally permits lethal force, gave chase to the student, Dave
Whihamner, when he tried to flee the scene. A friend of Dave
Whihamner, Amie Muyse, also intervened and was reportedly killed at
the scene. Therein, a third student who was already involved, Ivan
Wilkeson, tried to subdue the instructor and was later admitted to the
medical ward with severe wounds when the instructor retailated. The
instructor disappeared from the scene of the crime and has not since
turned up. He is presumed armed and dangerous. The two students who
were sent to the medical wing were later pronounced dead. Repairs on
the damaged Garden are under way, and what instigated the entire
situation, and how it escalated to such a point, are both under
careful watch. This is Esthar Live on Channel 6, and we'll have more
details on the story as it develops."

Name: Thomas Finn

Age: 22

GF Fusion: Tonberry King & Pandemona

Garden: Centra Garden (formerly known as Balamb Garden.)

Ht: 5'9"

Wt: Fit enough to fit SeeD regulations. Not overweight.

Appearance: Thomas Finn has dark hair and almost colourless eyes, although they may flare amber when he's in a temper or otherwise emotionally strained. Thanks to having been a SeeD for several years and in training for even longer, he has cultivated an athletic build, although he is thin rather than muscled, quick and agile rather than strong and bulky. His skin complexion is rather pale, contrasting with his dark hair and the dark clothes he usually wears.
Whenever he is not required to wear the SeeD official uniforms, he wears a leather jacket along with some other dark clothes.

Personality: Thomas seems unapproachable at first sight. He is not the kind of person who would surround himself lots of friends. But when someone manages to break through and gets to know him, that person will find that Thomas is prepared to protect those dear to him with all he's got.
When Thomas finds himself confronted with situations he cannot handle, he gets moody or even flares up into a rage depending on the situation. He can also be quite stubborn and finds himself questioning authorities every now and then, relying on his own judgement more than that of his superiors in the field.

Element: Sorry, I don't think he's got a real element. If he has, we'll find out in the RP.

Weapon: Thomas always was most talented with knives, be it throwing knives or regular knife fighting. He always carries with him an assortment of throwing knives (http://www.trueswords.com/images/pro...knives_540.jpg Like these) and for close combat he has two stiletto knives (switchblade, like this: http://www.directknifesales.com/imag...lade-black.jpg ) on his person. He doesn't like to use guns, and he always argues that most swords are too big to handle properly. Yet, his most treasured weapon is his rapier ( http://www.cashenblades.com/rapier.jpg ) that he started mastering when he found that most other students' weapons outranged his as soon as they dodged his throwing knives. Quick and light, yet long and sharp, the rapier has all benefits of both swords and knives. Or so Thomas argues, at least.


Background: (I will provide only a short background here, as I would prefer to just play most of it out as I go along. )
Thomas was born in Fisherman's Horizon. An orphan, having lost both his parents after a terrible crane accident during which their home was crushing and he came out of the rubble as the sole survivor, he was enrolled at Centra Garden, which had only just been established there, at the age of six to follow his SeeD training. It was only shortly after that Thomas was confronted with a Guardian Force, and somehow the two were joined.
Together, they felt the best course of action to take was to keep quiet about it. Surely their joining was extremely rare if not unprecedented. So they kept to themselves, and the Tonberry King found refuge in the deep, dark parts of Thomas' mind, only to shuffle forward with advice or aid when he felt it was required. Or, of course, when he just wanted to converse with his linked mind.
Thomas passed his SeeD exam at the age of 18, a little late perhaps considering his 'advantages', but his stubborn personality prevented him from shining as well as he could.
Recently, Pandemona also fused with Thomas due to certain circumstances.





Name: Lucy Morgan

Age: 16

GF Fusion: Jumbo Cactuar

Garden: Eshtar Garden

Ht: 5'6"

Wt: Same here: fit after SeeD training.

Appearance: Lucy Morgan has blond hair, but when light hits her hair just right it can burn a brilliant red. She has a slim build, and often seems cheerful. Her eyes are an emerals-like colour, and she has a rosy complexion. Lucy is often seen in SeeD student uniform, quite obviously because she is still a student. When she can wear her own clothes, though, she likes bright colours. She favours green the most.

Personality: Lucy is most often cheerful and trusting, but she can also be skitterish and frightful at times. She does not like conflicts or direct confrontations, and prefers to talk things over instead of fighting. This is why she does well in diplomatic courses. She is warm to strangers and friends alike. When conflict looms, though, she often tries to look the other way or even flee from the source.

Element: Not sure :S

Weapon: Lucy prefers to keep her distance, but she doesn't like to rely on guns. This is why her forte is the bladed staff ( http://www.trueswords.com/images/pro...NATA22_540.jpg ). She fights rather defensively, casting protective spells rather than mounting a direct attack. She would much rather talk things over and solve things diplomatically, though.

Background: Again, I'd like to keep this short so as to have more to tell during the RP itself.

Lucy is a native Eshtar citizen, her parents residents in a small village nearby Eshtar city. At the age of five, her parents were approached by scientists who saw great potential in Lucy. After her parents were given a guarantee that Lucy would be well treated and educated far above what they would be able to afford, they agreed to let the scientists take Lucy. And she actually was very well treated and educated.
The only painful thing was the GF-link experiment when she was seven years old. With great effort, the scientists had managed to catch and maintain the Guardian Force Jumbo Cactuar. But during the experiment, things seemed to go wrong. In the middle of the linking process, they lost track of the GF and could not locate it either outside or inside the girl's consciousness. When Lucy came to, she was told the experiment had failed. Despite this, she was sent to Eshtar Garden to be educated there, just as they had promised to her parents.
She would send letters to her parents, and also to the scientists, who had become some sort of family as well. And Jumbo Cactuar? He was nowhere to be found.

From your post I see that " The two students who were sent to the medical wing were later pronounced dead." Does that include Tamara, Lucy's friend? I need to know that for my first post with Lucy.

Personality
Lani is generally a friendly, caring individual, willing to help others, but isn't a push over. She does her duties as a SeeD seriously and is skilled fighter. Although she often plays the part of healer and support before moving offensively.

Shiva however is far more ruthless in battle and will annihilate foes when she takes over control of the young woman. Not to mention being very protective and even possessive of her "precious kitten". With that in mind, Shiva also is a very provocative character, relishing in making Lani blush with they are alone, however Shiva dearly loves Lani and two have a deep bond together.

History
Lani was found by Esthar Garden SeeDs when she 10 years-old and had amnesia. 10 years later, she still doesn't know anything from before she was found in the frozen alp cave, so Esthar is the only home she's ever know about. How she and Shiva are even fused escapes her, although the ice goddess has told her that as a girl, Lani had befriended the lonely goddess and things went from there.

However, a far darker truth lies in Lani's past.

Lani wasn't born - she was created. Through various lies, Lani was cloned from Squall Leonheart's DNA, and made into a female rather than a male. She was suppose to take on Sorceress Rinoa's powers, however the sorceress committed suicide after remembering she had killed Squall. With no other purpose left for the girl, Lani then became a guinea pig from GF Fusion experimentation. Years later, Lani met Shiva while taken on a scouting mission. Shiva killed the scientist in charge, however the goddess had been severely weakened and Lani decided to take in Shiva's spirit lest the GF die. Shiva realizing that the girl was a clone of Squall, the man the GF had deeply cared for, and had suffered terribly in her short life decided to take the girl's memories.

Shiva herself suppresses the memories, so as not to burden Lani with the past, believing the young woman need not know any of the past.

So Lani knows none of this, and neither does anybody else - yet

Personality
"The Playboy of Esthar Garden" accurately describes what kind of man Aiden is. He's flirtatious and has the looks and tongue to sweet talk whatever he wants. An ambitious man that get's what he wants, but he's seemed to settle his sights on Lani. Even after the two had a night together, he still yearns for more (lol, I love my romantic men xD). Despite his behavior, he has the proper conduct of a SeeD when necessary and the skills that show in his nearly flawless mission reports.

Ifrit matches very well to Aiden's personality. Cocky and arrogant, confident in his strength, Ifrit crushes his enemies without holding back his passionate blaze.

History
Aiden was born in Esthar, but on the day Sorceress Rinoa commited suicide, several Esthar citizens were killed by her uncaring actions, including Aiden's parents. So alone and orphaned, Aiden was taken in by Esthar Garden and raised to be a SeeD. Despite the traumatic expereince, Aiden adjusted well enough to Garden life and his duties.

Ifrit's fusion to Aiden was done mutually, although the circumstances weren't very merry. As a 10 year-old cadet of Esthar, on a routine training session outside of garden, Aiden innocently wondered away from the group and stumbled upon the GF Ifrit in a cave. Ifrit had remained in the mortal realm, in hopes of reuniting with his lover Shiva, however the beast knew his time was nearly up. However, with meeting Aiden, he had plead to the young, innocent boy to take in his spirit and let him be restored to his former self. Unable to deny the fearsome, but at the time, pitiful beast's request, Aiden accepted Ifrit into his body. Although their relationship wa some what awkward in the beginning, the years together brought a deep closeness between, Ifrit having become very fond of his host and Aiden enjoying Ifrit's company.

Aiden was last seen at Esthar Garden where the mess with Galbadia SeeDs occured.

Alaster Allvar
Age: 40

GF Fusion: Diablos

Garden: Esthar

SeeD Rank: 29 (but he's the headmaster, so I guess rank doesn't matter)

Height: 6'5"

Personality
Alaster is firm man when necessary, but has a rather laid back personality and has a charismatic "aura" about him, making him well liked by the SeeDs, cadets and instructors a like. Despite being in middle age, he looks far younger, but chalks it up to having a youthful spirit

Unlike Aiden and Lani who are more like hosts to their respective GFs under consensual circumstances, Alaster had Diablos forcefully put into his body against his will. However, Alaster and Diablos have formed a kinship with each other over the years. They're not buddy-buddy friends, but Alaster knows that Diablos had no choice in the matter either, so the two merely coexist with one another, although they've recently become more open with eachother. But regardless of relationship, Diablos is still very much a ferocious demon and any foe against the gravity weilding menance will face damage either way >.<

History
Alaster was born and raised in Esthar as a regular resident of the city. After Sorceress Rinoa first attacked Esthar, he was kidnapped to be a an experiment of a new experiment: GF Fusion when he was 25. At 28 a GF was finally fused to him, but the GF (Diablos) killed the scientists in a fit of rage. He wondered around for a year before settling at Windhill. One day, Ellone Loire visited the small town and the two fell in love and quickly became married. Alaster never told Ellone that he had the GF in him, hoping to keep his painful memories in the past. He was soon offered the position to be Headmaster of Esthar Garden, although it was originally suppose to be given to Laguna's son who had been killed years before. Although Alaster had met with Laguna, the two never truly became close as family, although Laguna had given his blessing to his union with Ellone. Since then Alaster has run Esthar, trying to keep politics out of it as much as possible, even when his wife became President of Esthar.

Alaster was last seen at Esthar Garden where the mess with Galbadia SeeDs occured.

Anita is a bright, energetic young woman. Very impulsive and often just goes with her guts in various situations. She is a nice, down to earth girl, but has little tact when it comes to social situations, but she means well.

History
Anita, like Aiden, was born in Esthar City and became orphaned after Sorceress Rinoa's insane attack on the city. She was recruited to Esthar Garden as a cadet and lived in the garden since then. She has been friends with Lani since the two were grouped in their SeeD exam together. However, things appear to change when an event yet to happen's changes her life forever...

Anita was last seen going on a mission the night before Esthar was attacked by Galbadian SeeDs

We'll be using a new RP thread, I just haven't put one up because I wanted to get this up here. Also, Tamara is not dead. The two students who went to the hospital were Dave and Ivan, Sephiroth's and Neofrodo's respectively. If you want Tamara dead, then you can certainly PM me with some details on it for when I post the RP thread. The intro post will be in the same format.

Okay, edited my previous post. I changed a few things in the bios due to the RP having come so far since the beginning, but there's my little blast from the past ;D

Also, should we make an info post about each garden again and other general stuff? If it's just people familiar with the old RP, then it probably won't be an issue, but you never know.

Oh, also! Should I make a timeline again, or is that unnecessary? :P

Oh yeah, so how should the first RP post be like? Doaj mentioned wanting to start 6 months after the event of the end, or are we just going to continue on right from where the last RP left off?

I was going to make the first post similar to the Newscast above, except instead of being the day after it would be six months afterward. And we can certainly include information on each Garden and any important topics. Busy at the moment, but when I have a chance.

Well, one way or another I'm going to have to continue straight on with Thomas. I don't think he pitched his tent and waited for 6 months in Bontane's basement. I could, however, make it a flashback if you want to hold on to the 6 months later thing. I'll post my first post as soon as I can (I have already finished most of it), all I need to know are one or two more details (like whether or not it's 6 months from the end of the previous RP) but then I can pretty much post it.


Also Doaj, you don't need to kill of Tamara. I don't really care, but if I had to pick a preference, I'd say she lived, she was pretty much healed by the end of CC anyway.

As far as I'm concerned Mel, I think a timeline and general info would be beneficial, both as reference for us but also to inform possible future joiners. Maybe it will just be us three, but quite possibly someone else will join and we want as much information as possible to be available, right?

To be honest, after thinking about it, I think 6 months is too long after the last RP ends to start from. Mainly because I had an idea from my character Anita - since she left for a mission before Esthar was attacked, I find it highly implausible for her to have still been on that mission for 6 months with no one noticing the absence of her and her team mates >.<

Can we shorten it to a month, maybe? I figure Esthar wouldn't be 100% repaired, but it should have some decent work already done on it to make it livable and such :O

LOL oh lord. I was going to propose dividing the current year into months or weeks, but then I thought it would be so much extra work and I didn't want to put that load on anyone. But since you're volunteering...

And any extra info is great! The more the better I think. If you need me to write something just say so, though I guess my limited knowledge of FFVIII lore would do more harm than good, especially since you have this entire history planned and know better than anyone how it's supposed to go.

In terms of extra info, I'm not sure...I mean, the gardens of this RP is far different from the ones in the game, right? So I figure that might be worth explaining.

Maybe I'll write something about Trebia Garden. It's underloved and I always liked it for some reason. I loved the music and the atmosphere in that Garden. It's so sad but oh so beautiful. *needs to play the game again*

Oh, I just realized! Since Adel's containment up in space ended during the game, all those transmissions got fixed, right? So is there something that can be utilized in the game, like cellphones and such?

Yep. Actually, a cell phone was utilised in the game already. Dave called Akira when he was in Alastar's office, remember?

Hey, I was wondering how flexible we can be with gardens in the RP? I mean, like, their services. More or less you hire mercenaries to do fighting for you, but there's definitely more SeeDs can do, right? 'Cause from what I gather, there aren't any wars, or anything going on in the world that requires fighting. I got my guys doing some investigation, but I can't really think of a reason to justify why they're training.

Well, I invented the Diplomacy classes that Lucy likes so much. So SeeDs can also act as intermediaries or mediators if the situation requires it. And why shouldn't mercenaries be needed if there's no war? I'm sure the police might need help against a criminal organisation (or a criminal organisation might need help against the police...) sometimes and there's bound to be more things you can use SeeDs for. We could invent the threat of a war, of course. In fact, maybe Akira's shouts that Galbadia was mounting and attack on the other Gardens will give us some reason to flex our muscles and get ready.


EDIT: You could be quirky and go for February. Or go all-out rebel and pick December!

Well before we decide when to start the RP, there's still the fickle thing about how long the RP ran exactly. By the looks of it, it was only 2 days all that stuff in the old RP happened O.o
