    Your cell phone

I'm shocked no one made this thread. Well type of cell phone do you have? and what cell phone have you had in the past.

#1:Nokia 2220. My auntie got it for me. I was so happy to have a cell phone.
#2: It was a Nokia but i forgot what type it was. But it had a camera.
#3: Siemens from T-Mobile. I hated that phone. The only reason i got it was the sales men was fine!
#4: Nokia 6165i. This was my second favorite phone. It had this feature where when someone calls you, and before you answer, you can hear them talking during the ringing. So like if someone was talking about you while they called you, you could hear it.
#5: Palm centro. My most favorite phone. I loved it. It was just a great phone. I still have it but I'm not with sprint anymore so i can't use it. The only thing i didn't like was that your check touched the touch screen and anything could happen.
#6: Blackberry pearl. I hated this phone. I hate blackberry.
#7: Palm Treo: I hated this phone. The text was un-threaded so i had the tendency to text the wrong person. Got a new phone last Wednesday.
#8:Palm Pixi. I'm not ecstatic about this phone but i don't hate it. I'm in between on it. It has great features, but battery life is kinda sucky. But all in all its not a bad phone.

What about you? What type of phone have you had and what do you have now?

Ah, the cellphone. I say now that once you have one, you can't live without it. Before I had my first cellphone, I was flabbergasted at the amount of time people spend talking and texting and using the other features, but once I got it...I totally understood O.O

I only started using a cellphone over 3 years ago, and I only recently got a second one.

My first one was a very basic Nokia 6061:
    6061_312x312..jpg

The plan I had with this phone absolutely sucked ass, but the phone was pretty solid. I could make calls and put it on speaker phone (which I did a lot since I did a lot of interviews over the phone for news articles which I recorded). The t9 didn't work well for me since I hate 1337 speech and kept writing out my words. But I dropped the phone more than once, and it still worked fine. Not to mention phenomenal battery life. I think after I fully charged it, with my average usage, I wouldn't have to plug it in for almost 3 days. Again, this wasn't a very gadget-oriented phone, but it did the job.

My new phone I got a few months ago is the LG Neon TE35:
    fido-lg-neon-te3&#54.jpg

It has a few gadget-y features, but I don't really find myself using them. What I really like is that full keyboard. I love using it so much. I've definitely texted way more on this than I did on my old Nokia. I have heard a few neg-points about the phone, but so far I've been happy with it.

To be fair, I got these phones for free when I got my phone plans, so while there may be waaay better phones on the market, I'll take what I can get xD

I think my first cell was a Razor, my second was a sony ericson, my third was the original iPhone and my current one is the iPhone 3GS.

Personally, I love the 3GS. I'd really like to see the droid and the g1 in action (my friend has one but I've never messed around with it). I can't imagine other phones being as easy to use, or having as many applications...plus the ipod battery life lasting 30+ hours...comes in handy for my hour to two hour commute each day.

Oooh, awesome idea for a thread! Here's my cell phone timeline:

    1.) Nokia 3300:

My friends and I used to call this the 'Taco Phone,' but it was a pretty swell phone, and was the first one to play mp3s.

    2.) Motorolla Razr:

I had this one in this shade of pink, instead of the super obnoxious super bright pink. This phone was pretty timeless though, and hell, they still make and sell it!

    3.) iPhone:

This was the beginning of my Macfag days. I didn't want to buy into it, I really didn't, but with the good reviews and the fact that I could carry the internet in my pocket, I had to get one. I got the 8GB model.

    4.) iPhone 3G 16GB:

When I heard that I could have internet...even faster, I had to buy this one. xD Having the extra space was nice, too! I treated this phone really well, too.

    5.) iPhone 3GS 32GB:

I'm not going to lie, I really wish I had skipped over buying the 3G and went right to this one, because it really wasn't worth the purchase price as it was, after upgrading from the 3G. It was faster, which was worthwhile, but I wish I had just skipped over the 3G. I ended up giving the 3G to my mother, who....hasn't treated it half as well as I have. I haven't been too nice to this one, either, and it's got some scratches on it, whereas my other iPhones didn't have a single scratch.

    There you have it! xD

The phones that I remember are:

    Current Phone:

It's slim, it's light, it can reproduce music, awesome camera(for the size) and it makes a lot of noise.

My current phone is my Palm Centro. I love it when it works, but right now it's being glitchy so I'm mad at it. Most of my phones before that were the crappy virgin mobile phones.

My current cell is a Nokia N86, before that was a Samsung E900, I've also had some of the older Nokia phones, a weird flip phone which model I do not know, and a literal brick, damn thing was indestructible, that was my first.

I've always had LG phones. the VX6000 was my first phone, and the VX8100 was my second.
I currently have an LG Voyager, but...its dying
My contract is almost at 2 years, so I can get a new phone soon. Might get a Droid. idk. I don't really like phone selections nowadays. They're complicated.

    Re: Your cell phone

My very first cell phone was the fat, ugly Nokia 5600. The very BASIC, monotone Nokia...It was a while ago, but mother felt I was mature enough to own one at the time. All I did was call mom and a few friends..That's it.

My current phone is the iPhone 8GB 3GS. It's awesome, but I kind of liked my KRAZR better.

    badadada

    I has update.
I now have a Motorola Droid. got it a couple of weeks ago.
I like this phone to an extent. It's taking some getting used to, transitioning from LG to Motorola. It doesn't have some of the old features my Voyager had that I actually used, like it reminding me if I had a new message. This saddens me.
The battery life also has much to be desired. It's NEW and it has crappy battery life. It'll probably last like 30 minutes when it's old. I don't see a bright future.

    Re: Your cell phone

I kind of got sucked into the whole "4 quad-band, world-wide coverage" hype a little while ago, so on impulse I bought a phone off ebay. Along with being 4 bands, it had wifi with the qwerty keyboard in a candybar shape and looked like a Nokia knock off. I actually have no idea what brand the phone since it wasn't branded, but I was really diggin' it.

However, my provider is sucking butt and won't let me add any data options or use their unlimited browsing add-on on an unlocked phone, so after shopping around a little more, I managed to get the LG Gossip just today:

I'm promising myself not to buy anymore phones if I can help it now >.<

Seriously, I feel so spoiled. I was fine with that old Nokia for THREE years, and within a year, I'm on my fourth phone >_>

    Re: Your cell phone

Huzzah, I've at last got my very first smart phone!

Its the Samsung Galaxy Gio, a low end smartphone, but it's still a little intimidating for me, someone whose only used a phone just to talk and text with. Truthfully, I haven't done much beyond that with this phone, but it's still pretty kewl. I figured android would probably be the best fit for me, and I was really lucky and managed to pick this up for sale for about $90.00. Still haven't really explored the apps and stuff, but still really nice. Just kind of annoying that my big, blunt fingers don't have some trouble with texting, but I'm working on it, lol.

    I never posted here?

I have a HTC desire, which has served me well for almost 2 years now. I use it to check my e-mail, browse forums and lots of other stuff. In fact, I rarely use it to ring or text someone XD

    Re: Your cell phone

Ah... cellphones. I remember curious stories about each of these, as well as why the change, xD

    1. Nokia 1100

Interesting little phone... I loved meddling with the composer and playing snake. I mean, not not to do with it when you were a 12 y.o. or something like that, right? But it was quite the sturdy phone and it was just nice. I think I had this phone for quite a couple years. I believe it was until, in a fit of rage, my father slammed it against the floor. The only apparent damage it showed was a slightly cracked casing, but hey, other stuff would have been completely busted, no?

    2. Motorola RAZR

I actually didn't have this one for long... worked nice, and had nifty features, (oi, it haz camera! xD) but the magic didn't last long. I lent it to a friend... who told me he just left it sitting in the classroom when I asked for it ¬¬ which thus brings us to...

    3. Nokia 6101

Not really quite comparable to the previous one, but hey, at least the guy did pay back something for his fault... I don't really have much to say about it now, just a regular phone there... plus I didn't intently use it for much. Well, perhaps for gaming, I had downloaded a good deal of cellphone games from somewhere and well, it supported them games, so that was that. Oh, well the camera came in handy for the occasional lab report and stuff. Its demise came when my mom threw it in the washing machine (in a pant I actually didn't want washed yet) and well, phones & water isn't precisely a good combination*.

    4. Nokia 6131

Not too different from the previous one, buuuuuut.... it had both infra-red and bluetooth connectivity. It worked perfectly as a link between my laptop of the moment and other infre-red (or bluetooth devices, none of which were supported by the pc. (Yeah, instead of getting a Bluetooth dongle or stuff, xD) I remember transferring back and forth files and files, and it was actually fun. Before its final demise, I remembar a particularly crowded class in which I was abruptly shoved into a desk, which broke the outer display's cover (not the display itself though) but well, that crack didn't bug me much. What happened later was, well I got mugged >.<

And that brings us to our special mention.

    4.5. Sony Ericsson Z750i

Not really mine but an unused phone from my cousin. I just used it provisionally for about a semester (last semester, actually). Not really much to say about it. I tried not to tamper too much with it since, again, it wasn't precisely mine. (Also the bright purple color didn't help much...)

And that brings us to the final entry...

    5. Motorola DEFY

I actually find this android phone pretty neat... not only due to its waterproof qualities but, so far, the apps have worked fine. Battery life isn't too poor either (well, it really depends what you compare it with). Except for the occasional freeze or force-closing app there's not really I'd like to complain about. Well, perhaps the fact that it occasionally get quite hot to the touch, but hey that's not gonna kill me (maybe?). It's still pretty funny to watch people's faces when I'm using it in the rain (although the occasional water drop may play around with the touchscreen, xD) and stuff (Of course I don't really do this at fully public places but, rather, in campus... I mean, I've been robbed once already >.<) Oh, and when my bag got stolen I lost them accessories I had for it, charger included (hopefully it uses the same head blackberry phones do, so charging it wasn't that much of a problem)

    So, that's that.

    *bangs head against wall*

So, uh, I got a new phone >_>

To be fair, I changed providers, so the new phone was technically free (well, it's on tab, but it'll pay off in 3 years). Anyways, I picked the Nexus S

I can admit that it's not something I need, but again, I'm hoping my choice is a wise investment. At the very least, people praise how quickly this phone get's updates, so meh *shrugs*
