Interest Check: The Peacekeepers

I want to make an RP, but I don't know if anyone is interested. We currently have RPs up, but I feel like they're much more isolated in who they interest. So, personally, this feels like it would be one of Kendra's ideas (That isn't being arrogant of me, is it?) so I'm hoping others find it as interesting as I do. So, here's the premise. Let me know if you want in on this sweet shit:

Bounty Hunters and Hired Guns from all over the world are flocking to twenty points of interest all over the globe. When man-kind was first coming into existence, we always assumed we were the only intelligent life. As it turns out, right under our noses was something completely different. We evolved into these tech-savvy beings we are today. Then, there are the Peacekeepers. They evolved straight from the planet, too. They call this Earth home just as much as we do. But they're more. There aren't many of them, but they have superhuman strength in order to resolve any situation they must. They also have the intelligence to not have to use it.

Until now, because an ancient artifact was dug up in Egypt detailing the existence of Peacekeepers. But it never said what they look like. It was all over the news. Two months later, while building oil pipes in Alaska, they found another. This one explained the purpose of an unnamed man. A purpose not unlike that of the Peacekeepers so recently heard of. People called it a fake. It wasn't. The Peacekeepers, as was learned in this second document, protect the deposits of Roentgenium. Roentgenium is a silvery white metal, more rare than silver, gold, or even oil. It is massively heavy, weighing nearly 1,000 lbs in a 1x1 inch ball. The existence of the Peacekeepers was initially questioned, until a team of forty men were sent to the location of one of these Roentgenium orbs. When they tried to leave with it, more than thirty of them were coerced to leave, and the remaining ones were never heard from again. These thirty went on to tell the tale, though.

Now, the only people searching for Roentgenium are bounty hunters, world-class thieves, and mercenaries. Others think that trying to kill the Peacekeepers is fighting the Earth itself, and is the last straw before the planet itself will die. These people are few and far between, but they'll do whatever they can to help.

The above template would be used for Hunters (those seeking the Roentgenium), and Defenders (those protecting the Peacekeepers). Also, depending on how many are interested, I will accept 1 to 5 people to play Peacekeepers themselves. Anyone?

I'm definitely interested, but as I said on MSN it'd be cool to get some clear definition of the purpose of this Roentgenium, so at least we know what we're aiming for. I've no idea what role I'd pick so I'll pass on that for now.
Also, depending on what kind of ultimate plot you decide upon, maybe you could detail some history of the Peacekeepers? Or perhaps what involvement they've had in world history, if any, and what influence on the environment they've had etc etc. It's great that these things exist and all, but a smidgeon of background would tidy things up a bit. Way too mysterious for a playable species atm.

I like it. Got some good potential there.

What can we expect of peacekeepers? Are they human(oid) or different in a way? Do they have special magic-like gifts or is it more physical strength or other arcane powers? I'm interested, even though I know I shouldn't because I'm in so many other RPs already...

@virgil, I would definitely delve further into the storyline of everything involved. I'm a storyline kind-of a guy, so if I made this an RP, that's the least of your worries.

No, but in all seriousness, they look exactly like humans, except they dress in a more natural way, like native americans, indians, africans, etc. It depends on their region. Also, they can range anywhere from 6' tall to 10' tall, and vary from 140 to 600 lbs. Some might be 6' and extremely thin, while others could be 10' tall and the size of a minotaur. On the note of their powers, it would definitely be arcane. They are of the planet, they are for the planet. They would have a wide array of curative, protective, and positively affecting skills.
