Thread: Minor issues with RSF v.2

I'd just like to point out a couple of minor setbacks I've found. It's nothing major, and I'm not complaining. Simply trying to help better the experience. =)

So, firstly, whenever I go to RSF, I'm not signed in. But, if I click any links, then I am signed in. It was initially confusing, but when I invited someone to the forum last night they got all confused too, and so it might be something good to fix for the sake of things being that much less overwhelming to new members.

Secondly, I don't like that if the chatbox has been idle for too long, I can no longer use it. I have to refresh the page. The links in it won't work, I can't type, and I don't see anything newly said. On occasion it also affects the entire site, so no links anywhere work, and that's a bit bothersome.

And, while this isn't exactly glitchy- is experience unavailable for this, or did it just feel unnecessary after the forum contest was over? 'cause I liked looking at the acitivity %s and stuff. Thanks for listening.

I have the same problem. And I'd like to see the statistics, too.

The coolest one. =D No, but dthc and I have both been using the dark blue skin, and I don't know about the others.

To my understanding, the skin causing the most trouble is the light skin. I've been told that users who have switched to this skin from the dark skin have been experiencing login issues.

I've personally not experienced any of the issues, except for the one Doaj mentioned about the Chatbox freezing up if you've gone idle. I'll definitely look into a fix for that, and report it to the coder. I'll also take a look to see if any other VB4 sites are experiencing these login problems.

As for VbExperience, it died on VB 3.8, I'm afraid. =/ The project was abandoned, so unless a new coder picks it back up, or someone creates something similar, we won't be having that modification. I will look for an alternative, though.

To those having problems, feel free to list any of the bugs within this thread, and let me know a few things:

1.) What Skin are you using?
2.) What browser are you using?
3.) Have you cleaned out your temp files / cookies / and history and still experience the same problems?

Bret and I are using different browsers. I'm on Firefox and he's on Chrome.

Although it doesn't work 100% like vBExperience, it is indeed the vB4 mod that's intended to replace vBExperience since
a) vBE's admin interface sucked balls
b) It's dead

Ah, Chrome. I haven't used that browser yet, so I'll give it a look and see how RSF functions on that browser. Thanks for letting me know. =)
