    Hetalia - Axis Powers

So, I was wondering if anyone had heard of this anime
    Hetalia - Axis Powers

It's a really funny anime with short, five minute long, episodes.

It's based off a manga with the same name, and is about the countries of the world, who are all stereotyped into people who have appearances and personalities that represent the stereotypes of that country.

I have a friend who is really crazy about this series. I haven't watched a whole lot of it personally, but I liekd what little I saw.

I was actually watching this full steam for a while, but haven't checked it out in a while. I should get back on that xD

I'd be lying if I said the heavy BL fanservice wasn't one of the reasons that drew my interest in the first place, but the series really is pretty funny if you can swallow down your patriotic pride (I feel so bad for Canada's portrayal xD)
Hi, sorry about my lacking presence at RSF. I got busy with my off-line life, and though it's settled a bit, there's not much to do here without people posting (which is kind of my fault >.<)

I love America's portrayal. It makes me laugh. xD
He sees himself as the World's hero. Kinda like IRL America.

I love Austria, he's really funny, and like actual Austrians (I lived in Austria for a long while)

This anime is silly, and I enjoy it. I haven't read the manga though.

Also, true story, I watched this series based completely off the amount of quality crossdressing pictures of it's characters.

lol, yes, that does happen quite a bit...

And the Shota Yaoi relationship between The Holy Roman Empire and Chibitalia kinda freaked me out

I didn't know that the show was only 5 minutes long per episode. xD Dang!

Like many others, I first heard about the show through all of the super-pretty cosplaying [and crossplaying] of it. It definitely looks like fun. I want to watch it for one main reason: France.

He looks like Franz from Gankutsuou. xD

    France from Hetalia.

    Franz from Gankutsuou.

    Seee? xD!

    Grr...

God damn France... I fucking hate FRANCE!
    GRAAAAAAAH!
WITH THEIR FUCKING WINE, AND THEIR FUCKING STRANGE LANGUAGE AND THEIR... GRAAAH!

    Sorry...
    Had to get that out...

That aside, they do kind of look alike...

And don't watch this show for that reason, watch it for the comedic historical reason. If one studies history, and knows a lot about WWII especially, then this show is HILARIOUS!

I don't think she meant that that was literally the only reason.

I realize that, but I feel like an anime like Hetalia is under appreciated for it's comical aspect and just classified as another fan-girl anime.

Fang girl anime? What does that make me?

    (The answer is a pervert.)

Though you know, you don't exactly have to be a history buff to understand the show's jokes. It really only requires a basic understanding. So don't be scared off from watching it by that.

Oh, I know that you don't have to be a history buff to understand some of the jokes, but a lot of the interactions between characters are only funnier once you know more about history.

    Re: Hetalia - Axis Powers

I like the show, however I'm not very heavily into it. My friends are, minus my friend Leanna and myself. It is a very funny show and rather informative, as we've learned things from the show we haven't learned in history class in school.
It's painful, the pain has already broken the illusion of our hopes and dreams
On the line between reality and ideals
It hurts, the pain has already brought to mind traces from the corners of our hearts
Of the reality we took on on that day
