Oh, Mr. Werewolf, you're so cute! Why is your mouth so big? Why, in order to put my explosives in it!

Ah, that wiki article made sense. Alright then. Although I kind of liked the potential idea that everybody is a vegetarian, despite that...interesting web comic saying otherwise xD
Hi, sorry about my lacking presence at RSF. I got busy with my off-line life, and though it's settled a bit, there's not much to do here without people posting (which is kind of my fault >.<)

    All Things Pokemon

I'm an ardent Pokemon fan, and I'm sure I'll be hard-pressed to find a gamer who hasn't at least tried Pokemon in his/her childhood.

In any case, my favourite game right now is HeartGold/SoulSilver, more specifically the former since I've got that one. I love the liberty Pokemon games give us. We don't have to strictly make the same choices in order to further a storyline (we can, at least, decide on the Pokemon we want to use), and I'm a guy who wants to do what he likes.

So, anyone wants to buy Black/White when they're released? I'm not entirely keen on the triple battling thing myself, sounds a little too confusing for my liking, but I'll see what the third game's like before making my decision.

A lot closer to doomsday. Black and White have tons of information released. I got to see the sprites before Nintendo shut things down. Anybody got a favorite yet? =P I definitely want the game, but having the money to buy it? A lot less likely.

really dislike most of the fourth generation pokemon, though. A lot of them feel underdeveloped and shitty. The fossil pokemon, Bastiodon and Rampardos feel like they're still in developmental stages.

, I'm playing it right now. Cyndaquil has always been my fave, so that's my starter. This is the first Pokemon game that I played since Silver, so it's interesting to see all the new features that have accumilated over the years. I knew choosing your genders was available from Pokemon Crystal and onwards, but it's the first time for me :3cats or birds? Or are there only Growlithes, Meowths and Pidgeys? What about fish, or cows? Chickens even. Do people eat pokemon? And if they don't, does that mean everyone's a vegetarian?

I have a very dumb question. Can you actually trade pokemon with other people online now? How do you connect your DS to the internet then and is there a specific site/portal you go to? D=

I think the only compatible game I have is HeartGold, but I barely touched that (and I got it on Day 1 too Dx).

As for general chat, I have to admit, I really can't keep up with pokemon. My first game was Silver, then I backtracked to Yellow, and then I bought HeartGold. That's pretty much it. I really don't play enough of the games to get tired of the 250 pokemon, so rounding off to 500 by now (I think?) means little to me >.<

    Yes you can.
For HeartGold, when you get to the starting screen with all of the options (like continue, new game, etc), don't load your game yet. Instead, scroll down and there should be something that says "NINTENDO WI-FI CONNECTION SETTINGS" where you can set up your wireless router/USB connector settings for your DS to connect to the internet.
Then to trade online, there's a place called Global Trade Station (GTS) in Goldenrod City (its a big shiny building to the west) where you can either throw one of your pokemon in there and request any pokemon you want (as long as it has been recorded in your pokedex) and other people may or may not respond to the trade, or you can just look for a pokemon you want and see what other people want for it, then trade accordingly.

    Cold as ice.

    Re: Pokemon: Unofficial Discussion.

The best pokemon are the ones with high speeds and high special attacks/attacks. They have poor defensive stats, but don't need them since they take out the opposition with the first move. Alakazam, Gengar, Jolteon, Mienfoo, Zoroark, Houndoom, Crobat, etc...

Though Escavalier from Black/White is a freaking badass. He's one of the slowest, but his attack is sky high with exceptional physical and special defenses. With his swarm ability and STAB, his bug-type moves are ridiculous. I'd use fury cutter (a weak move early on), and the first hit would do considerable damage even before chaining enough hits together to increase the power. His attack is that high.

People underestimate Ninjask. Highest Speed stat in the game. Ability increaes it every turn, JUST for some overkill. He learns Fury Cutter by level up, and I taught mine Double Team, Swords Dance, and something else (like, Slash) and with that, I've beaten entire teams that are super effective against him. My Ninjask is awesome.

    Re: Pokemon: Unofficial Discussion.

Yeah, Ninjask is awesome. If his base attack were a smidge higher, he'd be untouchable. It'd also be nice if he could learn some stronger moves. I believe X-Scissor is the most powerful attack he learns. Definitely not bad, but more options would be nice.

    Re: Pokemon: Unofficial Discussion.

Giga Impact, technically, but X-Scissor is still the better choice for him. He's fun to use for in-game though since he can sweep any computer even from a few levels below them. Online tournaments would probably be too much for his other stats to handle though.

    Re: Pokemon: Unofficial Discussion.

I've never been a fan of Giga Impact. I can't stand moves that take two turns or more to execute. It's a shame Ninjask can't learn Bug Horn. With STAB, that attack would pack an intense punch.

One of my new favorite pokemon is Mienfoo. What a badass. Mienfoo's speed and attack are massive. Also, its pokemon ability, Regenerate, is incredibly useful when paired with U-Turn. When Mienfoo is returned from the battlefield, he regains a third of his overall HP. Ownage.
