    Pokemon: Unofficial Discussion.

So, I've been in a pokemon funk lately, and I wanted to make some threads. However, I felt it would be spammy to make a 'Favorite Pokemon', 'Least favorite pokemon', 'Pokemon generations', and etc threads. Instead, why not wrap 'em all into one?

    So, who are you favorites?
    Who are your least favorites?
    Which generations did you play?

Features you liked, want, want back?

Personally, my favorite pokemon are 1) Mr. Mime, 2) Sableye. I have probably about ten that come in third after that, because there are some that I really like, but can't choose one over the other.

I really dislike most of the fourth generation pokemon, though. A lot of them feel underdeveloped and shitty. The fossil pokemon, Bastiodon and Rampardos feel like they're still in developmental stages. The pokemon seemed scrapped because Nintendo got excited to put out a 3-D world map. On that note, I don't like the 3-D world map. I'd much prefer the older way, just with more detail. When they made Emerald, I loved the transition from the graphics of Ruby and Sapphire. I feel like R/S/E and FireRed/Leafgreen were excellent, and they should've continued them in similar fashion.

I loved Pokemon when it first started. I like the original, Johto, and Pokemon world. I stopped watching after that.

    My favorites are -

    Arcanine - hell yes
    Charizard
    Pidgeot
    Ninetails
    Rhydon
    Gyarados
    Dragonite
All the Eons - [Jolteon, Flareon, Vaporeon, Umbreon, Espeon]
    Typhlosion
    Feraligatr [tor?]
    Scyther and Scizor
    Tyranitar - hell yes
    Salamence

I'm the guy that likes powerful and fast Pokemon.

I don't like most of the Diamond and Pearl Pokemons.

They got really generic and lazy with the names, and the show just sucks.

i love the original pokemon and the johto seasons of the show. after johto, i stopped watching. i loved the first three generations of the games, but 4th gen did seem like nintendo got way too excited for a 3-D map, which didn't impress me. My favorite pokemon have to be:

    Houndoom
    Houndour
    Arcanine
    Charizard
    Blastoise
    Mew
    Mewtwo
    Articuno
    Lapras
    all the eevee evolutions
    Cyndiquil
    Entei
    Suicine
    Raikou
    Ho-oh
    Lugia
    Gengar
    Dragonair
    Dragonite
    Scyther
    Scizor
    Ninetails
    Growlithe
    Vulpix
    Gyrados
    Tyranitar
    Groudon
    Kyogre
    Rayquaza
    Mudkip
    Torchic
    Blaziken
    Kangaskan
    Chansey

I love a vast majority of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gen pokemon. Like Raiyu said, 4th did seem rather lazy compared to the first 3.
It's painful, the pain has already broken the illusion of our hopes and dreams
On the line between reality and ideals
It hurts, the pain has already brought to mind traces from the corners of our hearts
Of the reality we took on on that day

Someone has a thing for Legendary.

I was gonna post some Legendary, but I like them all, then again, who doesn't?

My personal favorite Legendary though are -

Raikou - Raiyu, Raikou get it? My name is Thunder
Suicune - someone tell me if it's a female or male. I'm guessing female.
    Articuno
    Rayquaza

    That's all (:

Dragonair is probably my favourite Pokemon. Favourite game is definitely Silver. I always choose the fire-type starter. I wish there were better water-types. D=

Oh, Mr. Werewolf, you're so cute! Why is your mouth so big? Why, in order to put my explosives in it!

I'm going to have to say that Squirtle and Totodile are both great starters. On top of that, the only generation that I'd ever choose the Fire starter in would be Johto. I haven't liked any of the other fire starters. It's all besides the point though the grass starters are my favorites. Particularly Bulbasaur and Treecko though. Chikorita is meh.

    EDIT:

I got HeartGold today. I'm kind of bummed that even though I pre-ordered it, I couldn't get to the store in time to get the bonus figurine (particular store only recieved 24 and there were 40 pre-orders). I wanted Lugia, but I would've been happy with Ho-Oh, but I didn't get either Dx

Anyways, I'm playing it right now. Cyndaquil has always been my fave, so that's my starter. This is the first Pokemon game that I played since Silver, so it's interesting to see all the new features that have accumilated over the years. I knew choosing your genders was available from Pokemon Crystal and onwards, but it's the first time for me :3

I'm also wondering if I'll run into any new pokemon beyond the 250 mark soon ^^

As for the pedometer, the manual says you can only use after a certain point in the game, so I haven't seen yet what I can do with it.

But yeah, seems kewl so far.
Hi, sorry about my lacking presence at RSF. I got busy with my off-line life, and though it's settled a bit, there's not much to do here without people posting (which is kind of my fault >.<)

    Well, as for starters:

    1st Gen: Charizard. Because Charizard.
2nd Gen: Feraligatr, without a doubt. I always loved that set.
3rd Gen: To be honest, I wasn't a massive fan of any of the 3rd generation starters. But if I had to choose, i'd go with Blaziken. And if anyone makes a Mudkip joke, I will kill you in your sleep. Or just give you -Rep.
4th Gen: Torterra. Infernape just felt really lazy, in particular that they were just re-using the same type combination as last time. Empoleon was OK, but nothing special. Overall, Torterra was just more cool looking. Not to mention more useful... a Grass/Ground combination was a really good idea.

Anyway, my favourite pokemon would be:
    Seadra
    Magmar
    Haunter
    Gengar
    Rhydon
    Mewtwo
    Scyther
    Scizor
    Misdreavus
    Mismagius
    Tyranitar
    Umbreon
    Houndour
    Houndoom
    Donphan
    Delibird
    Ralts
    Kirlia
    Gardevoir
    Altaria
    Absol
    Rayquaza
    Lucario
    Giratina

1st Gen: Venusaur. I'm a big fan of it, even though my favorite types are Water and Psychic. Blastoise is a close second though, and makes for a new feeling experience when I use it.
2nd Gen: Feraligatr. It really is a boss. Typhlosion has always looked like he would easily tip over. He stands awkwardly. I like Quilava though.
3rd Gen: Treecko is pretty much always my choice here. Honestly, I don't like Sceptile much. But I like Treecko and Grovyle that I can't help but choose it. I never cared for Blaziken, although I have nothing against it. Swampert is a close second choice for me though.
4th Gen: I have not played any 4th Gen games yet, but if I were to then I'd probably pick either Torterra or Infernape. I think Infernape is a cooler Fire/Fighting type than Blaziken, but he also shouldn't have been a starter. They could've gone much more original. Torterra is visually lame to me though, because it looks like a first draft of Venusaur, that they brought in later thinking nobody would notice if they changed its types. I noticed, fuckheads. Piplup really isn't a bad choice, and Water/Steel sounds cool, but I can't stand either of his evolutions. I was really stoked for the release of Diamond and Pearl, and before anyone had seen any pokemon, a fake version of Empoleon made its rounds through the internet.

This is what I was expecting. I was so stoked, and then when we saw the real one, so disappointed. Not to mention, Magmortar, Electrivire, Lickilicky, Tangrowth, Rhyperior, and more were absolutely horrid. So, I haven't bothered pursuing any of them. They're just too saddening.

I gotta agree about the masses of unnecessary evolutions they added in generation 4. I mean, some of them were good, like Mismagius and Froslass... but seriouly, most of them sucked.

And regarding Ryperior, that should never have been made, and neither should Aron or Lairon. What they should have done is made Aggron an evolved form of Rhydon.

Also, Tangrowth was kinda bad, but I think it could be saved. All they would have to do is add a 3rd evolutionary form to it, that looks much cooler than Tangrowth. Of course, it would still have been better if they had gone straight to this new, cooler form, and never made Tangrowth, but it's a bit late for that.

Not Aron! I love Aron! <:O

I'm going to have to agree that Aron was a good evolutionary line. No need to cut it back. Realistically, Rhydon doesn't need an evolution. He's already quite powerful. Even Rhyhorn is powerful. Giovanni uses him in his team, and doesn't even bother evolving him

Rhydon would've been fine on it's own, as would Aggron. But the two just seem two similar. I mean, face it... Lairon and Aggron are just Rhyhorn and Rhydon with metal plating.

Pokemon is the only video game I seem to play anymore. Nothing else appeals to me. I play the games over and over as I have since Red/Blue released in the mid 90s.

My favorite pokemon are: Alakazam, Nidoking, Heracross, and Mewtwo (the only legendary pokemon I particularly like). There are others, but those four are the first that come to mind whenever I try to think of my favorites.

I refuse to include starting/legendary pokemon in my party. Each group has absurdly high stats, and in the case of the starting pokemon, they're given to you right off the bat. At least you're forced to capture legendary pokemon, but that isn't even satisfying considering how easy it is to save before you encounter one and continue fighting it over and over until you get lucky enough to catch it.

    favorites!:
gen 1: ARCANINE! gengar, and Pidgeot
    Gen 2: Umbrion, Typhlosion
Gen 3: Blazakin, Scalamence, Minun (long story) Kyogre, Rayquaza(Sp?), Groudon. Emerald FTW
Gen 4: eh, didnt really feel it that much. starters were interesting, but not really great in long run, so seemed almost pointless.

    Least favorite: Magickarp with everstones

And i agree with you DK, i dislike using legendaries in main parties. At the very least till i prove i can beat the elite four once without them. after that it's all good for me. XD
Weakness is just weakness leaving the body.

-Cody Matthews. (first time i looked at it i just laughed. then i looked again and realized it was actually pretty great.)

You know, this is something that's been bothering me for a little while. I don't know if this is something that's common knowledge, but in the Pokemon universe, are Pokemon substitutes for every other animal that exists?

Are there any dogs, cats or birds? Or are there only Growlithes, Meowths and Pidgeys? What about fish, or cows? Chickens even. Do people eat pokemon? And if they don't, does that mean everyone's a vegetarian?
