I've recently come upon the realization that as the Mafia/Crime Mob RP stands, I can't go through with creating it. I like the mafia idea, but I'm not comfortable in a modern/realistic setting, and, frankly, I don't think I'm alone in that. I've recently come up with an idea for another RP, and what I plan on doing is merging both ideas, into one big RP. So, here's the change:
Synopsis: In the future, natural resources such as oil and electricity are not what is scarce. It's energy. The energy to get you up in the morning, to walk down the street, to live and breathe! Humans have become so dependent on receiving energy from caffeinated beverages and artificial supplements, that their bodies have lost the ability to produce energy for itself. Without energy, people merely fall into a coma-like state, and consequently die. Therefore, all humans now require artificial elixirs, trading under the name 'Fuel.'
There are two reigning corporations that have possession of this manufactured energy, yet it is rumored that these corporations are no where near as 'squeaky clean' as they appear to be. Apparently these companies rely on Crime Mobs in order to obtain the illegal ingredients that are required to create the newest opiate for the masses. Instead of only dabbling in drugs and prostitution, these mobs have honed in on something far more crucial: life itself.
In this RP, there will be races known as 'Heats,' where various citizens and mobsters can compete in order to win a healthy sum of fuel. Because of the need for fuel, it's become just as valuable and tradable as money itself. In a heat, a player will put forth a certain amount of their fuel into a pot. The contestants will all compete, and the winner will take the entirity of the jackpot home if they win. The competitors, will lose out on whatever fuel and money they put into the contest.
There will also be betting pools known as 'oil spills' by the spectators, and they can also put in some money and fuel, in the hopes of winning it all and living easy for a while.
Setting: Futuristic, perhaps in the year 2500 or above, on Earth. As such, players can take liberties with their characters and their more-so science-fiction designs. Though, I'd prefer human characters, perhaps some characters with android-like parts, but no aliens or strange creatures.
Characters: I'll be working with pre-made characters, but, to those of you who have already submitted bios, you can still use those, and I'll just make minor adjustments. But, ethnicity of the characters won't matter as much anymore, so, feel free to make any changes yourself.
Positions: Players can play mobsters, high-up businessmen/women in the corporations, citizens, and police.
Statistics: I'm bringing back a stat system again, and you can expect not only a bank system for each character and corporation, but also an energy indicator. Because...if your character runs out of energy, your character is out of commission. The goal will be to obtain a steady flow of energy not only for yourself, but if you're in the corporation or a mobster...for the company itself.
