Re: What Anime Had the Most Depressing Death?

I'm only halfway through Basilisk so far, but my four favorite characters are dead, and I do'nt even like anyone else, really: Okoi, Jousuke, Shogen, and Yashamaru. Jousuke and Okoi had particularly drawn-out deaths, making it seem as if they might not meet their end just yet. They did. And with Shogen, he "died" and then showed up like two episodes later randomly in the middle of a battle, and died seconds later. It was like, "Surprise, not dea- Oh dead..."

I'm too lazy to bother with spoiler tags. If you're browsing a thread like this, then you're doing it at your own risk. Don't read on if you've never seen Fullmetal Alchemist.

For me, Fullmetal Alchemist has the most depressing death in it. Maes Hughes's death is gut wrenching. A devoted husband and father cut down in his prime. If only they had the dragonballs. If they did, no death would be a bummer.

100% agreed. I was so fucking appauled that they killed Hughes off, of all possibly choices. WHO THE FUCK DO THEY THINK THEY ARE?!
