Wondering what the Democratic party is doing to get us out of the Middle East? According to President Obama's speech, the plan is to send 30,000 more troops to Afghanistan and pull out in 2011. I won't bias you by inserting my own opinion on this matter, but I will provide for you several questions in which to find out your opinion on this matter.

First of all, what's your initial outlook on this plan?

-If the idea is to help train the military to protect itself, do you believe this to be a benevolent plan or merely one with ulterior motives?

-Should America continue to intervene in global matters or should it be more isolationistic?

What do ya think? Is this a step in the right direction, or merely more of the same old song and dance?

I told people this would happen, and it did. When I heard about this Monday I think I was the only person unsurprised by the news. I was surprised, however, that he decided to go with just 30,000 instead of the 60-80,000 General McKrystol requested. I'm sure some guy on FOX News'll have something to say about that. Anyway, getting on topic.

Whether or not them training the military over there is an act of benevolence or conniving is one of those things we won't truly know until something actually happens. I would love to say "ulterior motives" considering America's previous experience with training Al-Qaeda to fight Russia during the height of the Cold War, only to have their efforts work against them. But then, what those ulterior motives may be is also another question?

As for your second question, I've always felt like America should just sit down and stop poking their dick in everyone's kool-aid. The whole "we're going to liberate and bring democracy" mess is no different than antiquital societies laying waste to other nations because they don't share the same religious views. It does nothing but piss people off and start wars.
