    Casshern

I'm really, really shocked that I haven't made a thread about this movie yet. It's a movie that was Produced and Directed by Utada Hikaru and her now ex-husband. It's a live action version of the anime Casshan/Casshern: Sins. It is absolutely stunning when it comes to visuals and action sequences, has a great soundtrack, and the plot and storyline are actually very moving and powerful.

To those of you who enjoy steampunk, Karas, or want to see a live action version of Metal Gear Solid 4's Raiden, then you need to check out this movie!

    BORKED

There's one of the best action sequences out of the movie, and if you guys do watch this, PLEASE get it on DVD or Blu-Ray. It's an insult to watch something like this on youtube, or in low quality. Also, I'm not sorry for stretching this thread. xD That video was worth it!

That being said, tell me what you guys think! It's really a great film.

I've been meaning to check this film out for YEARS. It was recommended to me by a friend while I was still in school. xD

I did my fair bit of reading up about it and even tried watching a few episodes form the anime once or twice. I'll take your advice and be on the look out for a DVD version of the movie. It looks awesome all round, tbh.

As I said back in that Utada thread, I once saw a YouTube vid that edited clips from this movie with a Protomen song. It said that if a Mega Man movie was ever made, it should look like this.

Ever since I've wanted to check it out, but I had forgotten. Thanks for the reminder, Kendra!

A Karas-like movie with a Raiden-like lead? And Utada directing?!

I saw that clip you posted, and it's so outrageously chock full of computer graphics. It's been a while since I've seen all those special effects in a live-action movie xD

But yeah, it does look kewl. I'm interested in the stoy and the music is enough reason to keep my attention. The only thing is the graphics. Again, it makes me lol at parts where it's obvious the character is standing in front of a screen, but still pretty kewl.
Hi, sorry about my lacking presence at RSF. I got busy with my off-line life, and though it's settled a bit, there's not much to do here without people posting (which is kind of my fault >.<)

Haha, no problem. I agree, if there ever was a Megaman movie, it should be really similar. But then again, the Casshan/Casshern animes were really pretty similar to Megaman in a sense, it's got the same 'armored, powerful suit' idea.

Eitherway, check it out and update this thread when you do!

Haha, yeah, a lot of the effects are very, very obvious, but when you watch it on a bigger screen in better quality, it's much more seemless. I don't remember the movie looking as awkward as it did in the youtube video. It's really beautiful on a nice television set.

What the....Dude! I just watched that movie last week. Were you lurking around on my closet or something? The movie was pretty awesome. After a slow start, I enjoyed the story and the thought process behind the character, the enemies, and the overall concept of war.
