Antoinette Davis: Off With Her Head?

OK, so, if you read my blog you know about the recent grotesque happenings in my home state. Shaniya Davis, a five year old girl, was found dead after she had been reported missing. Not long after the child's disappearance it was discovered that her mother, Antoinette Davis, had been prostituting her daughter to various men to serve as their sex slaves. According to some surveillance footage Shaniya was last seen with a male checking into a hotel and her body was found days later. Antoinette didn't actually murder her daughter with her own hands, but she might as well have.

The question is... should the girl's mother and her killer receive the death penalty? Would killing these two sick fucking bastards rectify this whole ordeal? Would it make her father and the rest of her family feel better?

I vote no, mainly because it wouldn't do anything to make me feel better. It'll give Shaniya's family a sense of justice, but only temporarily. The fact of the matter is, Shaniya's gone, she's never coming back, and it'll still hurt.

A bigger reason for my "no" against the death penalty for them is the fact that there are fates worse than death. Due to their crimes, they'll be tossed in Maximum Security prisons, which, according to my ex-con of a father, is equal to Hell on Earth. Especially for prisoners who made crimes against children.

My ex-girlfriend's father is serving 12 years in prison for repeatedly raping and abusing her. His sister, before she died, cursed my ex for reporting him because her father called them one day and was crying about how terrible his inmates were treating him, and how the guards didn't seem to care. Good fuck him.

Now, imagine these son of a bitches going into a maximum state pen for this girl's DEATH. You wouldn't even need capital punishment. In fact, I think they'll be praying for death while they're in there.

If you look at history and how inmates treat child offenders, their lifespan in prison isn't very long. And the ones that live long enough manage to keep their shit a secret, but that's a very rare case. NOTHING ever stays secret in prison for long, and eventually it all comes out.

Fuck Antoinette Davis and Shaniya Davis' killer. Let them rot in jail and pray unto God that He grants them sweet release.

I mean, the death penalty to me is less about punishment and more about just....a permanent means of getting the offender off the streets.

In this case, even if it's less practical in some ways, I'd say life in prison is the right course. The way things work here in the states, she'd just spend her whole life appealing anyway. Chances are fairly high she'll die in prison either way.
