Re: Favorite Mangas?
Two high school kids want to write manga so they team up, one as the artist the other as the author, and they take some work to an editorial department who eventually gets them published in Shonen Jump magazine. It's sort of your run of the mill slice of life dreams coming true manga but the draw is that it's a manga about people making manga. It's made by the same duo that wrote Death Note so the art and storylines are awesome. The art especially, so if you liked the way Death Note looked then Bakuman is much of the same in that department.

Re: Favorite Mangas?
The majority of my favorite manga are yaoi, though I am terribly picky when it comes to the genre.
I do like:
Dogs
Fullmetal Alchemist
Death Note
FAKE

Re: Favorite Mangas?
Well, let's see, I wasn't much of a manga reader... until quite recently, but I've come across some pretty nice ones (as in the ones I've bothered to read all the way through at increasing speeds if completed or expect eagerly the following chapters weekly/monthly or whatever). So, let's see...
- Ah! My Goddess: This series had me reeled in since I was a kiddo... thought only until now have I started to read the manga. About 60 chapters into it, I just like the themes and the characters and, well, you get the point.
- Black Cat: Loved the anime, but the manga is even more impressive... at least to me. So yeah, absolutely loved it...
- Elfen Lied: Yep, liked the anime, but it just left me wanting more... ergo went to the manga. It gives the story a very dramatic twist... and the final volume I was just devastated... I mean, it even got me all teary eyed (and that's not something easy to accomplish... with the exception of tear gas, onions or the like)
- Love Hina: Well, it was pretty much what there was to expect, the anme followed the plot quite nicely and the rest was just more of the magic.
- Rosario + Vampire: In here I'm considering both "seasons," but still, the story just got to me.
- The World God Only Knows (Kami nomi zo Shiru Sekai): I found this pretty interesting, and the following plot twists made it all the more thrilling.
Other manga I've read (or, more properly, still am since they're still publishing) which might be worthy of a mention are, as I mentioned, To LOVE-Ru and Sora no Otoshimono (Heaven's Lost Property), although these two were more for the comedic part rather than the actual story since well, it's not thaaaaat deep in many parts. Well, I guess that's pretty much it.
