    Lightbulb Crime Mob RP

I've been recently inspired to try and get back into forum RP. I've been burnt out for the longest time, but I'm starting to miss it.

So, I have an idea for an RP, and I'm curious who would want to be a part of it. I've run several RPs, most of them were rather large scale, but I've learned something from each RP. Corruption, my 1984-based RP taught me that good vs evil is a hard fight to play, because everyone wants to be evil and bad ass, and therefore overshadows the rest. Before the Fall taught me that if you give people too much freedom and too little direction, that an RP can fall apart. Battle Royale taught me to stay away from statistics, for math can be draining! And Aristocracy taught me...well, it really didn't teach me anything, that RP was awesome and one day I'll revive it to it's full potential.

But before I do that, I'd like to create an RP that has the elements of my previous ones: dark, twisted, and hella fun! So, with that, I look at my first RP with Corruption, and say: "...What if it's just evil vs evil?" After all, good is just a matter of opinion. The most villainous people are those that wear a mask of righteousness.

If you've read all of this so far, then you are truly deserving of being a part of my hopeful upcoming RP. And with that said, here's what it's all about:

    The Mafia Manifesto

This RP's exact setting has not been decided, but chances are it will be in a more modern setting, perhaps even a realistic one. I've dabbled in the beauty and imagery of a cartoonish style of RP setting for a long time, but I think now it's time to strive for something so unbelievable...that it's realistic.

The premise of this RP is going to be two crime families, at war with one another. Now, as we all know, Mobs need all kinds of characters. Morons, silent soldiers, savage killers, and methodical and charismatic brilliance that commands respect from any and all below his or her feet.

But the flip side of this, is not just the warring mobs, but the dirty cops they have in their pockets. Not all justice is blind, and in that same vein...not all cops are tainted. So, not only will players be able to be the criminals, but they can play the badge-toting detectives and police that are after their tails. This would call for plenty of conflict, from all possible angles. A bloody free for all. And I for one, think it'd be a LOT of fun to role play.

If there's enough interest in this RP, then I'll get to work on plotting and planning out one hell of a show. I've already got some twists and turns locked and loaded and ready to go. Also, the title is not final, it was merely the first thing I thought of as I hurried to get all of these thoughts down in text form.

So, who is with me? Anyone interested?

I'm definitely interested, and I'm already trying to think of a cool character to play as. Curses and curses Kendra, for creating an RP just when I'm busy. >:|

Haha, well, I may not do this RP till closer to December, because I know a lot of talented RPers are doing that whole 'NaNo WriMo' thing. And, I want to make sure this RP is a success, so I'll be recruiting from other forums and planning it out for a while.

Awesome! <3 Having another person interested makes it more worthwhile for me.

I'm interested. I just don't know what type of character to write up yet. I'm torn between hard-boiled detective and comic relief criminal...

Any RP you decide to put up I'm interested in, mon ami.

    *gasm*

I hope you do. I loved taking a part in Aristocracy. My character was awesome.

    Am I missing something here?

Anyway, I'm looking forward to it. I've already thought of several characters I might be able to play, depending on the setting of course. In the meantime, I'll see about getting some more time on my hands.

Also, Aristocracy ruled, and I just feel that Fiacre Amadour is still out there, waiting for me to take control of him again. Can't wait.

*raises hand* Yes I'm interested, even if I'm absurdly busy now. and even after December... well, maybe not so much after January 1st.

But I'll definitely want to take part in this. Got many ideas going around my head... although I should first concentrate on school (and college app) matters... xD

Well, didn't it teach you something about pre-set characters or anything? :P

I am so interested in this <evil laugh> I'm struggling with the two RPs I'm in at the moment though, but I'm hoping that as I get more experience RPing that my posts will become more fluid and descriptive (hell I may even be able to rewrite and finish the books I started), but you can count me in if/when you decide to run this.

I hope you do. I loved taking a part in Aristocracy. My character was awesome.
Haha, well, I'm starting to toy with the idea of creating another 'preset character list' like I did in Aristocracy. I think what I might do is create templates for the character types, or even 'deeds' that the characters have to carry out, and it'll be up to the RPer to figure out the rest.

Example, I might have something like:
"Character Z will go crazy and kill 3 low-level thugs from Mob A in an Irish pub."

So, it'll be up to that player to figure out the rest. What kind of character the person is, and what events led up to his/her main 'scene.'

NaNo WriMo is an event that takes place in November, where people write a novel during the month of November.

I'm glad to see you already plotting things out! I plan on hashing out some ideas within this thread here, and I've posted interest threads on other forums to try and recruit some outsiders, and get more ideas for how everything will work.

I miss Aristocracy. =( That RP really did have some amazing characters.

I'm glad that you'll be joining in on this one! =) And, have fun dreaming up your characters!

It takes time to get more in the swing of things when it comes to RPing, but I think you're doing an awesome job! I look forward to seeing you playing a part in this RP. =)

You're so unfair. But alas, I don't think I can decline. Your RPs are always so riveting. Consider me in, Kendra. An Irish pub? Is this The Boondock Saints?

I still need to get caught up on the stuff I'm in now, but I am interested. Something tells me my character'll either end up being a cop or a lowly errand boy.

Kendra, Can I ever say no to you?
    This sounds amazing.

You can count me in ;D

The objective is to make this RP super-saturated with awesomeness, correct?

    Looks like I'm in!

I don't mean to be unfair! I'm glad to have you onboard, though! =)

I will admit..Boondock Saints is what inspired me to do this RP. But, no, it won't be Boondock Saints.

Haha, either one sounds like it'll be fun. xD Again, this RP won't be starting till December, so, you've got time to catch up!

Yaaay! <3 No RP of mine is complete without you, Courtney!

That is the objective! And with you onboard, it looks like we'll hit that mark. ;D

Haha, I keep seeing people talk about wanting to do a crime/mob RP but they never followed through. It figures someone as awesome as m'lady would stop that pattern :P

But yeah! It definitely seems interesting. I can already say that I'm gonna be a law abiding character, though I'd attempt to pull away from the typical character types I always seem to fall in to. But really, I just can't do evil/corrupt the way I've seen a lot of you do in other RPs :O

The only problem is that I am pretty busy, but I think this is something I could defintely get into. If not an RP based off an already existing fandom, then I could probably do a current-time, realistic setting without too much hassle =D
Hi, sorry about my lacking presence at RSF. I got busy with my off-line life, and though it's settled a bit, there's not much to do here without people posting (which is kind of my fault >.<)

    I'm up for it.

Mhm. That's all you're getting out of me, Kendra. I'll probably play some sort of cop, though; just to make sure that the mobsters have someone to fear. *___*

Yaaay! I'm glad you're interested in it and as well! And, we need normal citizens just as we need mobsters and cops, so, that'll work out great!

I'm shocked you won't be using Mamoru. xD Chances are there will be Yakuza in this RP, so I'd think you'd have used him.

But if you're using a new one, then, even better! Glad to also have you on board.

    Oh, there WILL be Yakuza?

Well, then, that gives me two different characters to use.
