Your First Anime

What was the first Anime show you ever watched? And, how old were you when you saw it? Did it get you hooked on anime then, or did you just watch it as a kid, and get into Anime later on in life?

For me, my first anime was Sailor Moon, when I was about 3 years old. I didn't know it was an 'Anime' at the time. I also watched DBZ, Speed Racer, and Pokemon back then, but it was when I was about 8-10 years old that I began to understand what 'Anime' was. This was thanks to Toonami. Gundam wing was the anime that really got me into it, and the rest is history. xD

First Anime was digimon. First time i really got into it, 19, and it was Naruto. I watched over 200 episodes in a week. My dad thought i was crazy....until he got into. The guy hasn't been the same since.

My dad always watched Digimon with me. And Dragonball Z. And most other anime I watched. I can;t seem to interest him in Cowboy Bebop, however.

My dad's more of a shonen kind of guy, I suppose.

I think it was probably Transformers or Zoids. When I was a little kid I was more into marionette shows like Captain Scarlet and Thunderbirds.

The first anime that I really fell in love with was Pokemon, though. I remember being the only one in my class at school who knew what it was before the trading cards boomed.

My first anime was Ronin Warriors. I was about eight or nine years old when they first started showing it on... whatever network it was, really early in the morning so that kids could catch it before school.

Anubis is one of my favorite anime characters of all time.

I really have a hard time remembering. I guess my first anime would have been pokemon or digimon or something.

I think Scrapped Princess was my first mature anime.

then like BJ, first proper ones came from Toonami. DBZ, ZOIDS, The Big O, Tenchi Muyo, Blue Submarine, Outlaw Star, etc.

My first anime(before I knew what anime was)was probably Sailor Moon at age 5 or 6. I then got into DBZ when I was 8 and then came the God-awful time of being a Naru-tard at the age of 10. Thankfully, I broke that habit by forcing myself to watch the first episode of Evangelion, and then I kicked Naruto to the curb.

The first Anime I ever saw was Street Fighter 2 the movie that came out when I was like 6, and it was like the most immensely awesome 90 minutes of my young life. So later on in life I used to call it "Jap animation" since I didn't know the proper name for it. Anyway since it was practically impossible to find Anime back then through normal channels it wasn't til I was like 13 until I could find any. Even then I had to get it off my rich Japanophile friend who used to order online/download off P2P networks. After that when I finally got my own internet connection I just surf the infomation highway and found the glories of both free porn and Anime, woo go me!

My first anime was either Dragonball Z or Pokemon. I'm not sure exactly which one of them came first, since I watched them around the same time. I think it might have been Pokemon, though. I used to get up early each day before school just to watch Pokemon.

My dad was/is a HUGE Speed Racer fan, so as far back as I can remember, Speed Racer was my first anime. I grew up watching the exploits Speed and his crew, zoomin' around mountains and shit, chopping down trees with his mighty saw blades, basically, doing everything I ever thought would be cool to do. I STILL wish I could get a car like the Mach 5. I would probably just end up playing with the little RC plane/duck thing all the time, though. Shit was TIGHT.

My first anime was Space Pirate Captain Harlocke. My mom and I used to watch it when I was little. I also watched Dragonball in my early days. Still both great animes.
