Way of the Samurai 3, suckas!!!

Yes, yes, YES! Way of the Samurai 3 is coming to North America and Europe, man! Like... the game was released way back in 2008 in Japan but fans everywhere else got no word of the game ever being released on our side of the globe. Super freakin' excited about this. I mean, I don't own a Xbox or PS3, but I plan on getting one eventually and reveling in the Way of the Samurai goodness.

Whatever the hold up was, it's finally here. If you plan on picking the game up, you might consider heading to your local GameStop or EB Games. The game's North American publisher UFO Games Interactive has let us know that the retailer will be carrying an exclusive bonus item -- a "The Art and Strategy of the Warring States" DVD!

The disc comes in its own separate case and box, which means that it likely won't be packed with the game. So be sure to remind your friendly GameStop/EB Games employee to give you your damned bonus item. Damn it.

I've never played Way of the Samurai. I'm assuming it's good?

Yes, yes, yes. It's one of the few morality based games that actually let you explore all avenues of morality. There's the good, and the bad, and the grey area, and whatever else you can come up with. The games tend to run a little short, but the replay value is high. Cool stories, solid action gameplay — it's just a great series, man.

And the first two are out in the US?

Yes. The first two were pretty good, I just wish they were longer.

If I had a PS3 or 360, I'd get this.. but I'll have to pass for now.

Okay, so I saw this on sale and felt compelled to get it based on Fuyu's hype. I mean, his tastes have always been similar to mine in the past. really, it just seemed like destiny.

I'm not a Sengoku era nut, and I've never played the first two but I'm enjoying this one. It is probably the first truly open world game I have ever played. The lack of linearity can be a little intimidating to beginners like myself, but you get the hang of after a bit of playing. It's just like, they drop you into the world of Way of the Samurai 3, and then you can go do whatever the fuck you want. There's a buttload of weapon customization options, even when you first start the game. Just walking around you can find weapons everywhere (including sticks and green onions.) and whenever you kill someone, you can take their weapon. This is all besides the fact that you can collect weapon parts to make your own weapons.

Simply put, I'm not an especially big fan of Samurai stuff or anything and I think this game is really good. Chances are you can find it at a low price, if so I'd recommend it.
