I know that Death Note is in no way, shape or form an 'underrated' Anime/Manga, but damn, it's a good one! I've watched through this series twice, and was recently motivated into watching it again for the third time!

Every time I watch through it, I like something else, I notice something new. So, I figured it was time for a Death Note thread. Though this is in the Anime section, you're welcome to talk about the Manga, and the live action versions of it.

Things Death Note Taught Me:
1.) The rookie cop is always the best cop. [Sup Matsuda!]
2.) Some things are not meant to be translated into English.
Example: "I will take this chip...and EAT IT."

3.) Porsches look way bigger in Japan. [See: Higuchi]
4.) Scribbling in a notebook never looked so epic.
5.) In Japan, a lock and key just isn't enough to keep your sister out of your drawer. [See: Most unnecessarily complex fire-starting mechanism ever devised in an Anime.]

Wasn't there supposed to be a second series to Death Note? Like, from what I heard, they were so elated at the manga/anime's success that they're trying to do another Death Note story or something? If it's actually underway I'm down, man. Just so long as the show doesn't... pike in the third act like the first one.

I think I'm the only one who actually LIKED the end of Death Note. xD

I haven't heard of them doing a second series of it, but I know they've released Pilot Mangas to it, and the manga-ka is pretty busy making other series.

I know they made a Death Note sequel in Japan, sort of. It was a live action called 'L Save The World,' but...eh. No thanks. xD The live action Death Notes were pretty bad, despite the good actors.

I was absolutely amazed by the first 25 or so episodes. Up until Near became a character. The 'L' part was great, the business that used the Death Note was great, but Near dropped that show from an 11/10, to like, a 7.5/10. It's still a good anime, and I like it, but the first two thirds is so damn epic and incredible that it would easily be my favorite anime if the last third wasn't attached. Ryuk is my favorite character in the show. He looks so dope.
