Let's talk about hip-hop!

I'm not about to bash Lil' Wayne, or even Soulja Boy for that matter. I actually rather like some of their catchy smut. >>
My gripe with hip-hop is the amount of samples used. Let us take for example The Chronic.
The Chronic?
Yes, The Chronic. The album that made Dr. Dre. The album hailed by many to be the best hip-hop album ever made.
I have difficulty understanding why this album makes Dr. Dre so "great" if it features around thirty three samples. That's right, thirty three riffs or hooks taken from other people's songs. Of course he got permission and used his producing magic (along with Suge Knight) to make them sound all nice and menacing together, but does this really make him that good of an artist?
I'm just using The Chronic as an example here, the overview of what I'm saying is hip-hop is too easy. It's been made easy by countless artists making sampling credible.
There are only two songs on The Chronic that don't feature samples from other people's music. Two songs out of sixteen. Am I the only one who thinks this is bad? Am I the only one who thinks hip-hop is just too easy to make money from?
Personally, I think it's disgusting how people like Dr. Dre can call themselves artists and take credit after making an album that features so much music by other artists.
Hip-hop is just too damn easy, and it's disgusting in certain aspects.
