In terms of local news, this is probably the most shocking news of this year so far.

There was a horrendous accident on a highway that I drive on often. It became national news.

About a week ago, a mother with her 2 kids and her 3 nieces crashed into incoming traffic. The mother crashed into an SUV which killed all 3 passengers inside. Everyone was dead on sight except for one, the mother's son who was ejected from the van, and he survived. A total of 8 deaths.
